I’m sure you are aware that each 7* in the 10x10 is from a different year. The only currently available 7*s from 2017 are Angela, Blade, and Stark Spidey. Angela and Spidey aren’t from the base pool, and Blade might have been too good in their eyes to give away entirely free. I’m sure they didn’t want to choose someone that they could add to a titan, limited crystal, or something, like Ice Man or Nebula. And that’s when Gwenpool makes sense. But also her Ennervate is pretty unique utility

Don't forget Punisher 99, The Hood, and soon to be Medusa but they're also not base pool. Does make me wonder why Gwen and not someone like Cable, Vulture, or Doc Ock who are both in that same kinda tier as Gwenpool where they're ok but you probably won't pick them over other options.
