I will never understand the logic of "I think I am beat but I cannot fold".
@natecrosman7732
@natecrosman7732 7 ай бұрын
Think about it this way; you could be beaten the vast majority of the time, but obviously you don't fold the majority of the time when you have the second best hand. Sometimes you just have to roll the dice. If you folded every single time you thought you were beat, people would exploit that.
@jeffkan1
@jeffkan1 7 ай бұрын
I get what @natecrosman7732 is saying, I hear ya, but I don't differentiate between thinking you are beat, and knowing you are beat. Nobody knows 100% that you are beat, so you have to go with your best educated guess, or even a "feel" for it. I'm with @sharthun2009 ... if you think you are beat, then there is very little reason to call. If you announce before the showdown that you think you are beat, that's where nate is correct ... if you tell everyone you think you are beat, and then you fold every time you announce it, yes others will take advantage. And sure, every great once in a while, you might want to roll the dice and find out if you are beat. But it depends on so many things: how many chips you have, how much is in the current pot, the range of your opponent, etc. And another good point that follows Nate's comments: you will want to change your tactics through the day. If you announce after the showdown that you thought you were beat, but you called and lost, then on the next hand... if you have the nuts are or sure that you have the best hand, announce before the showdown that you think you are beat.

I live in Vegas and spent years playing "professionally" as in, I did it for work... I can tell you from experience that this type of situation happens sooooooo much, it's unbelievable. In fact, I stopped playing because I lost 12 nights in a row to situations exactly like this... can only lose to one card, and they have it. People who don't believe in luck are one of two things: ignorant or stupid.

This is what happens when you limp in with Pocket Aces. It was an easy fold on the river raise. Now, had you raised it pre-flop, then garbage 34 off suits wouldn't have been in the hand in the first place, and you will definitely win with Aces full of 3s. When you limp in, you're allowing garbage hands to come in and potentially crack your pocket Aces.
@paullentz1972
@paullentz1972 7 ай бұрын
Stupid raise on the river there. You're only getting called....by the case 3. If dude only had an ace..he's not calling the raise on the river. Unreal. Just dumped $6k needlessly..when he could have only lost $400 on the river. Sometimes...you have to make a call that could turn out to be a bad no-raise.
