I think a critical aspect of this team that you missed out is how almost every game, Zidane had his famous 60-70 minutes substitution of Vazquez and Asensio for Benzema and Bale/Isco to reduce even more the defensive work rate of Ronaldo and consequently raise the offensive out puts. Yes, they were lucky the 3rd time they won it. They finished 19 points behind Barcelona in the league that year and were dominated by Bayern and psg. Just look at the Bayern games stats. Way many chances for Bayern, stupid mistakes done by defenders and keepers. And then, not yellow for Casemiro (but for Vidal, another story) and one meter offside Ronaldo Goal.
