These aliens were the original Slendermen. That ending was one of the scariest twists to ever come out of this show.

Well as Krankor taught us in “Prince of Space” - Just as with chickens, aliens “are too stupid to mutiny” - despite the flaws you pointed out, it was a decent episode. Though even Krankor and these aliens in this episode are still more intelligent than those in “Invasion of the Neptune Men” - though their blowing up a random Hitler building is still epic.

What I never understood, even while watching as a kid, was they waited until it was too late to tell her that they are hee family. Why was the plan kidnap first, explain later? Also, if they can talk to her through her TV why not try to explain things before they meet her. I know, I know, it's a TV show and the plot and twist ending couldn't have happened otherwise. I just felt that it was so glaringly obvious, even as a child. This was the first episode I ever watched of AYAOTD though so I didn't mind too much. I was just excited to find something so odd and creepy made for kids. I was born in 1990, so by the time I was watching, I was seeing the reruns they played around 7:00 PM every night. My brother and I would be upstairs and my mom would turn off the lights and yell up the stairs "hey kids, are you afraid of the dark?". We'd yell no and come racing downstairs to watch the show. Aaah, memories lol.
@JackOfAllNerdsShow2 жыл бұрын
Yeah, it would've solved all the problems if he just would've explained the first time he appeared on her tv instead of weakening her brother and strapping her into a murder chair. The whole alien backstory has issues.

Damn this was an amazing episode i love the idea of aliens in this story i love that Karen was adopted by Billy's parents after they found her i felt like this deserved to be a 1 or 2 hour long episode with questions left unanswered to be answered. Also the comment about the phone prank in locker 22 Fritz and Donny got sent to the office daily for their troublemaking they probably nade friends with a student who worked in the office records. Julie's parents had to fill out her school records for her to be a new transfer student she had to turn them in the office on her first day. The guys did know im sure her last name cause teachers always introduced the new student to the class the first day they asked the student who worked in the office records to get them Julie's number so they can prank her if that makes any sense at all

That's true, but I'm still curious how she was taken in by the humans. Seriously, they just found a baby in their apartment building and decided to keep it? No law involved at all. @@JackOfAllNerdsShow Yeah, a lot of those stories had a lot of potential, but the run time limits them and the fact the network only allowed them so much on a channel for kids. Though, some of them still seem creepy for a kids show.

Just got through watching that episode. Strikes me a rip off of Mars Attacks. As a side note, I'm baffled by how in the end of every episode, the leader is able to extinguish the camp fire with one singe bucket. I say that because me and my girlfriend drink and build fires in our backyard and it takes at least five minutes with the water hose to put it out if we decide not to let it burn through for whatever reason. Also since she did tell her adoptive brother "I wish I had your Genes" and he thought she was talking about his Jeans, when Raymond showed up on her TV while she was trying to sleep, he could benefit from what that one predator from that one episode of To Catch A Predator said which was "Keep Your Genes In Your Jeans!"
@JackOfAllNerdsShow2 жыл бұрын
Haha! Yeah, they tell stories of magic, ghosts, and monsters, yet Gary putting out the fire at the end of each episode is the most supernatural thing about the show.

I haven't really seen it brought up anywhere, but after the jeans joke, she goes "not your blue jeans, z***erhead", which is a reeeeeeaally offensive slur here in the US. They obviously didn't mean anything by it, it was just a throwaway insult in a kids show made in Canada in the early 90s, but rewatching in 2021 and hearing that, I had to do a double take 😳
