This is the very first heckle and jeckle cartoon ever. The thing of it is is they were not heckle and jeckle at this point. They were just referred to as the talking magpies. Heckle and jeckle were both male. One of these ones was female. This was the cartoon that inspired heckle and jeckle and then later on became heckle and jeckle, Making both birds male and making them brothers instead of husband and wife.

One of the most important cartoons made at the studio, as this was the forerunner of the "Heckle & Jeckle" series introduced at the end of 1946. Dayton Allen provides most of the voices; Tom Morrison is the arguing magpie at 1:39.
