Robert Masterman why are you saying Bob?
@DoctorOblivian6 жыл бұрын
The Talyllyn Railway is indeed the inspiration for the Skarloey Railway in Thomas The Tank Engine, almost a 1:1 reference. The only thing that Rev. Awdry changed were the names (he used to volunteer on the Talyllyn) This engine's name is NOT Petter Sam, its Edward Thomas, however once and a while they change the name and give it a face (usually horrifying) in tribute to Rev. Awdry and Thomas the Tank engine in general.

Wonderful photography. Brings back memories of a school trip ( Chorlton Grammar School, Manchester) to the Tallyllyn railway in about 1953/4. I think that our woodwork teacher -surname Lloyd- was a member of the preservation society which is how we got to go. I have one small B&W photo showing a saddle tank locomotive and carriages with a header board which I cant read. Looks very much like Peter Sam. I now live in Western Australia so no chance of seeing it again in person.

If An individual mans income Raises in poor counntry india we many people can visit here and we travel and enjoy this lovely train. We could only see. Thats our Destiny. We cant afford.

I'm sorry to hear that, but that is where the Internet is a wonderful thing, it allows us to see trains all over the World....Greetings from West Wales.

They were wearing those lookalike faces when I visited. The Rev Audrey, was influenced by his visit to the Railway to write the wonderful Thomas the Tank Engine stories.

Indeed Adam, but it all adds character to the locos, without infringing on copyright issues I suppose.

Cute little railway originally built to haul slate from the quarry. Why today must there always be girls pushing in on masculine activities?

The ladies are a force to be reckoned with, so watch out!!
@freeman8128 Жыл бұрын
@@robmasterman There are ladies and there are 'wimmin'. They are mutually exclusive and cannot be conflated. What do you mean by "watch out!!" - for what? - Is that a threat? If so, stuff it & stuff U.

Fun fact, ships and engines are refered to as 'she', so your comment makes no sense.

@@ukaszwalczak1154 Wake up. I was referring to girls and 'wimmin', not ships and engines.
@ukaszwalczak1154 Жыл бұрын
@@freeman8128 Yes, i know, that was meant to be a joke. But fr dude, women worked on the Talyllyn ever since it became a heritage railway. You're gendering a railway, A RAILWAY, and acting as if it's a 'Masculine Activity'. You're acting as if you're at an American Political debate.
