@@23Emerald I got an incredible string of combos on doomfist one time. The entire enemy team was mid street and below 10% HP after an emp punch. my teammates were one corner away, 4 stacking payload doing quite literally nothing the entire time. A single support weapon would've cleaned these people up yet I died and their team healed up for free. They were 30m away and 2 steps from open sightlines and dps running hitscans.....

​@josephreynolds2401 damn nearing winning the 1v4 on doom to look back and my team is emoting eachother on point because they can't understand taking space. Then I die because of zero follow up. The consistency is unreal too, it's essentially every game where half the team doesn't understand how to play the game.

@@freshbud6113 The damage players are the biggest offenders and supports stay back because poking damage players are supposed to anchor the backline's position(or run hard flanking damage+supp combos). The 3 roles all have different goals. Tank role is the most inscrutable as the public/private stats rarely indicate quality of their performance and "space created" is undefinable. Uptime and Abilities Traded would be good indicators for all roles, including tank. It's also abstract enough that bone heads wouldn't even bring it up as a bludgeon.

@@josephreynolds2401 On the other hand if the enemy team is letting you do the objective freely there is no need to go all leeroy jenkins on them. You win by doing the objective in OW, not with elims, this is something MANY people fail to truly grasp.

@@Tyrgalon Wrong. Winning the objective is best done by putting the enemy team on spawn timers. Any effort that doesn't do this is desparate or ignorant. If it only takes one player to contest objective, it stands to reason that securing the best teamfight and wiping the enemy is the first core objective as it secures uninterrupted time to take the stated core objective. Non-metal ranks play this way and metal ranks usually don't play this way. This isn't a coincidence.

As mainly a dps player, I enjoy playing tank like once a week. Mainly thats because I rarely play and don’t have to deal with getting rolled a lot. Idk.

@@chiefinasmith every game ill tilt the enemy team/sometimes my own so i can report them via chat. So far i've banned at least 50 players, or at least muted them so i can lower the playerbase even more in hopes the devs bring back 6v6 so the game can stop sucking mega balls

if you didnt then people would abuse the fuck ou tof it. "we're getting rolled, leave so i lose less points" it would be so easy to just duo, have one person on an alt and everytime the game looks unwinnable the alt person just alt f4s and saves rank

They are really thinking like DOTA or HOTS. 5v5, In my experience, Tanks do low dmg, disrupts and well... Huge health.

Does anyone else think that removing the dps passive and then nerfing healing by 10-15% across the board would be good?

If you take away healing numbers across the board and take away the passive. It will make survivability 10× less and you fall EVEN DEEPER into the mauga, orissa and hog meta where people start relying on reduced damage rather than healing. we've had this for....its gotta be years at this point. (With the exception of season 8) The devs are looking into doing hero specific changes rather entire stat changes so it's not so the odds aren't totally stacked against certain heroes. If you disagree, think about heroes like lifeweaver with 10-15% less healing, that would make certain heroes more useless than they are now. A change like this also KILLS THE TANK ROLE EVEN MORE THAN IT ALREADY IS. Like kicking a gimped horse in the mouth

@@dakotagoettler-fipke1252 your argument makes a lot of sense, I actually up until this point have been anti 6v6 returning, but splitting the aggro really feels like a viable way to stop tanks that aren’t Mauga, hog, or orisa from blowing up instantly in team fights if they don’t hide. Rebalancing the cast around it and queue times still are big reasons why that would be hard to pull off

I say remove all role passives and revert HP back to what they were. Kind of like how the game use to be when it felt better

Here's what you do. Remove the DPS passive and go for a 100-75-50 system instead. 100% healing from supports on tanks, 75% healing on dps, and 50% healing on supports. Supports can keep their self heal values it's only the healing received from other supports that needs nerfed.

Oh my god dude i don't know if those were your friends or randoms but holy christ the extra stress you got in that last point in the first match of the video was completely unnecessary, i dont know if your team was busy or what but when the timer was at 1:15 (10:32) you were putting pressure on the ana but no one was on the payload, again i dont know if your teammates were busy, because you already eliminated some of the enemies but your team could've avoided almost losing.

funnily enough, when i want to take a break from DPS and playing tracer, I just go Zarya and run it down. I feel like this game is a lot about perspective, and playing a lot of tank will inform that perspective more than other roles. The amount of times I’ve ran away and sold my team and we end up winning instead of protecting or trying to finish a kill has really encouraged me to just leave my team to defend themselves😂

The skill floor for healing is lower than the other role's primary functions. Ana has increased likelihood to hit versus allies, LW holds a button, Mercy holds, Kiri heals home-in, Bap/Moira/Lucio do area healing. Illi has a thick beam and a pylon healer. Healing output is accessible and doesn't indicate a progressive performance. The output they have when they aren't healing and clutch heals make the difference. Why is healing nerfed more than ever yet healbotting is still the default mindset? This doesn't even relate to the tank experience. The tank experience has very little to do with supports helping their tank or not because support healing and abilities are not hard to hit on one's own tank. The tank player suffers whether their supports are heal dumping them or not. Not all supports healbot. Not all moiras go on a dps's flank angle.

I was a hard Tank/Support main in OW1, I've got almost strictly to DPS in OW2 because that's the only role that gets to have any fun and isn't as stressful. I can have my best games every on Tank or support and it doesn't matter. As tank, I feel like I make little to no impact on the game. As Emongg said, you can't finish an elim, you take all the cooldowns and you get deleted immediately. Support feels like a losing battle, especially if your co-support is going full on DPS. You either constantly get dove on in the backline or you simply cannot keep anyone up. It feels horrible to play support as support. I understand why a lot of supports just go full on DPS... because that's the only way it feels like you're making an impact. The game has shifted SO much to favor DPS and damage over anything else, it's ridiculous. Why even have teams anymore if it's just deathmatch.
