I noticed that for those IQ tests that you do to get a job or acceptance at certain places, my score is just a bit above average when I'm depressed but when I'm in flow it's way higher. The same for when I write an exam, if I had a really rough day then the exam just seems to drag on and my mind keeps going elsewhere and my result after such an exam are mediocre, but when I'm already in flow and start the paper I barely have to think and it feels like 10min yet an hour has gone by, and those are the really high scores.

@@vishalv6251 I suppose it's a practice. I can get back into flow more easily than I could a year ago but it's through constant internal work and meditation. I realized how reactive I used to be before and became aware of my internal dialogue. When I was writing the attorney bar exams I was with my ex of 4 years so I was extremely distracted and didn't study much, opting to hang out with him instead. Even on the day of the exam, I was more focused about meeting him after the exam than the actual exam. I'd leave the exam hall early and call him immediately "Hey I'm done finally! We can go to the park now," while my boss called me to ask how the exam went and everyone else seemed way more concerned about how I did than I was. I still passed and the exact percentage results are withheld, it only says passed (you're an attorney now) or failed (try again).
