Verdanturf town was one of my favorite locations in Hoenn. It was peaceful, I could interact with Wally's family there, there was a battle tent, that lady who told me the friendship level of my team, and a shortcut to Groudons lair if he spawned there.

@@Thomas_Morse I believe OP is talking about pokemon Emerald. All the contest halls except in Lilycove got changed into Battle tents. Also, in pokemon Emerald, I believe after you beat the champion, both Groudon and Kyogre will 'create' small caves randomly in several spots where you can catch them. Two of Groudon's caves are near Verdanturf.

@@Thomas_Morse Um, there's only one, but they appear in one of those random spot and can move to another one of those spots. I haven't played Emerald to that point myself, so that's all I can tell you.

Sapphire/Ruby was my favorite generation of pokemon. It's been forever since I heard that song and I miss when I had played it for the first time.

I saw Wally on the thumbnail and for some reason, I was trying to work out how Wally's theme from ORAS was the best tasting air. The flowers in the battle background? That made the nostalgia hit even harder when I realized. RBE is the generation I grew up with, and though all the music is great, Verdanturf just felt... Different. It was so soothing every time I heard it.

ORAS was where Pokemon really started for me. The stage where I was so invested in every aspect of the game only gaming short in competitive play, not knowing how EVs worked. This takes me back. One day, I will compete the national Dex. Only 6 left... One day.
