Shame Ayrton didn't stay with McLaren...instead of going to Williams. But this ending looks like an and to a fairy tale. Still missed 25 years ago...today, we lost greatest racing talent ever. Rest in peace Legend.

With the sadness about Senna and what happened to him the following year, it is easy to forget that Hakkinen would end up being a great driver for Mclaren and would bring the team further success with x2 World titles in the late 1990's. I look at this episode as a changing of the guard at Mclaren.

Personally, it’s very hard to watch this particular episode WITHOUT shedding a tear, particularly when Ayrton crosses the line to win & the music kicks in and he goes around to say goodbye to everyone at the end. And then.......

The fanfair at the end seem appropriate for a episode that was first shown on Christmas Eve. They don't make programs like this anymore

Senna had no choice but to sign for Williams. Staying at McLaren would have meant dragging that brutal Peugeot around the track and probably would have been his first season without a win. Of course, we can all look back now and know what his decision meant, but at the time, it was 100% the correct decision.

It's sad of course what happened to Senna in 94, but again he made the right move. Had he lived add 2 or 3 more championships to his 3 and no one would have touched his pole or race record we would have set to this day.

I agree. Always seems almost ironic to me that Monaco was the very next race. Had he jumped out the car without injury in Imola I fully believe he’d have started his title challenge there with a win. We’ll never know of course…

Crazy, I feel like there was so much tension when senna left, you can see in on there their faces. Mclaren was heartbroken, but senna wanted a taste of Williams

I watched Schumacher from his earliest times as a Mercedes Junior driver. As we saw in his F1 career, Schumacher would do some peculiar things if he expected to win but things suddenly stopped going his way. I think Ron Dennis was warning him against himself.

He is great NOT because he gain numbers of titles. But because he win in inferior car or driving problematic car or rain. We love him because HIM, not because his title.

Depends for how long Senna would have been in F1 and what teams he did end up with. Considering the Williams team performance back in the mid 90's - and all things going to plan - if he stayed with Williams for the next 4 years he would have had 4 more titles (94, 95, 96, 97 would have been easy titles). But no one really knows for sure, obviously.
