The day that Freddie died was A sad day for the entire world. A big loss for the world.
@blondiebluetx6424 күн бұрын
I still remember hearing of Freddie’s death when it made the news in America in 1991. I was devastated because I’d been a fan from the mid 70’s. I still remember MTV carrying the tribute concert but I couldn’t watch it because Queen without Freddie just seemed so foreign and unthinkable. Today, at 60, I celebrate his life, legacy, and the incredible footprint he left on music worldwide, and how his death also was a turning point in the fight for AIDS. Freddie always wanted to be remembered for his music, that’s what gave him purpose in life. Death is but a moment in time. While I don’t discount his passing has left a huge hole in what his talents along with Queen could have done to enrich the world of rock, pop, and even classical music, the legacy of this incredible talent should always over shadow his horrible and untimely death. Thank you for this remembrance of a last goodbye by his friends and family. I can only imagine the heartbreak they felt that day. Even when you know death is imminent, when it happens it’s like a punch to the gut that sucks the life from you. I hope with the blessing of time the pain has subsided and the tears of his physical loss are now replaced with joyful memories of a man so special to each in his unique ways to each of all who knew him intimately and from afar.

In the early days of Queen, who would have imagined that the best operatic singer in the world would sing at Freddie's funeral? Her voice came down from heaven. How Freddie adored Monsi and she loved him so very much. It's hard to put into words the ethereal feeling that Monsi added to the service. It was palpable. Thank you, Monsi, for adding such a sense of joy to Freddie's life. ❤❤
@hermannus389421 күн бұрын
I doubt if you had ever heard of Montserrat if Freddie didn't love her voice and they made an album together. And if he made the album with Callas (yeah she died already in '77), you would probably say the same about her.

This is a beautiful tribute that you are paying, with the addition of Montserrat Caballé. What is comforting, despite the sadness of many, is to say that Freddie is no longer suffering, his last days having been very painful. He showed immense courage and, 33 years later, he remains in our memories.
