Still a fine short film after 4 repeat viewings ! About the gods, especially the Lovecraftian gods, I've often thought that if you opened the door to them, you're doomed. No weapon on this Earth would have an impact on them. Even to look on Azatoth , for instance , would drive you insane. Professor Hawking was right - we should not try to contact anything out there. But one day , I'm sure we will , and I hope I'm not around to see it. Imagine if Alfred Hitchcock had made a cosmic horror film ! Wouldn't that have been something , especially if The Birds was anything to go by ! Thanks for the film, guys ! Please make more ! Redhook is a compelling character.

Well done, you capture that existential terror that lies at the heart of the Cthulhu Mythos very well. And as for evoking the 1980s and John Carpenter, it's like I've been whisked back to the theatre and the first time I saw "Prince Of Darkness" and "In The Mouth Of Madness". Great stuff!

Two of my all-time favourite movies, so to be compared so favourably to them is extremely humbling. Thank you for that compliment, it is gratefully received!

This nails the creepy atmosphere nicely, and I love how the cosmic horror is all about leaving everything to the imagination. That is truly Lovecraftian.

I love it!! Have you ever given thought of expanding this movie?
@OctoberFifteen3 жыл бұрын
Hi, thank you so much for your feedback, glad you enjoyed the film! Yes, we have actually attempted to expand on this film. Firstly, there is a sequel on the channel called 'The Quiet Season' which you can find here kzbin.info/www/bejne/lZPHZ6BsYruEmJo There have also been several short scripts written, as well as two feature-length scripts which unfortunately never got the funding necessary to make them.

I've heard a few different lines about creativity being a thing that only happens under constraint. Like not having much of a special effects budget for a horror film. You *really* got to nail the whole "make the monster scary by not showing it" thing, then.
@kevincaruthers54123 жыл бұрын
Shorts should have at least one memorable line you can take away. In this case, what I heard that I thought was the perfect line is not what they said (according to the closed captioning). What was said: "Take some of my hard-earned knowledge, and save yourself some time. Choose now." What I heard: "Take some of my hard-earned knowledge, and save yourself some time. Shoot us now." On reflection, I like what I heard. :D TLDR: Very nicely done!

A pretty nice, tight little film. I think I could've done without the filters to reduce the "film quality". That can be a bit distracting. But, overall, really enjoyable. I wouldn't mind seeing the 2009 version.
