Saw them in Kansas City, MO, Sept. 2018, when they opened for Judas Priest & Deep Purple. I thought they were fantastic...I'd see them again given the chance!

I saw them on the same tour (in Virginia Beach VA) and was hooked. I think I was the only one up and dancing when they played as people shuffled in to see Priest and Deep Purple. Had never heard of them before but they killed. So good.

Gives me a bit of Counting Crows vibe. Saw the TM in 2018 and they are great.

the best english blues-rock band of the last 5-6 years. Simon’s rhythm, e.g. the groove in Built-in Forgetter is simple brilliant as through the whole concert. Nick’s got an amazing bass line, Paul’s play is fantastic, Matt's solutions are low-key & very elegant - I'm crying, Phil is thumping. Hurry!

Technically they're Scottish, not English. Other than that, pretty much yes!
@radar0101015 жыл бұрын
@@kevinjohnbetts yes, but the music style is english blues-rock
@kevinjohnbetts5 жыл бұрын
@@radar010101 Hmmmmmm, I'm not sure there is such a thing. *British* blues-rock maybe. I see Phil Campbell as following in the footsteps of Scottish blues-belters like Frankie Miller, Maggie Bell, Davey Pattison and Jack Bruce. Yes the band is heavily influenced by English bands like Free, the Faces and The Rolling Stones but there is plenty of the above mentioned Scottish in there too. To me it's all British, even the Irish guys like Rory Gallagher, Van Morrison and Gary Moore are part of that British blues-rock thing with its distinctive take on classic rock and roll. In the end though it doesn't matter what you call it, although calling a Scot 'English' to his face might provoke a violent reaction, as long as you enjoy the music.

@@kevinjohnbetts I would go with British, as in the British Invasion. My first impression of Phil Campbell was Rod Stewart like most, and I agree with your influences, but I heard 2 other Scots too, Bon Scott and Dan McCafferty of Nazareth.
@kevinjohnbetts5 жыл бұрын
@@stevencole5481 Not sure about Bon, much as I like the early AC/DC stuff. Definitely Dan McCafferty though. Good call indeed!

WHOOOOA I just texted my buddy this EXACT same thing and then read your comment. That is exactly what I'm hearing. The Faces mixed with early Black Crowes.
