Personally I count the factory area where you assemble the robot as a dungeon and the spirit temple as just the cap off for it

I love how two fans and a steering stick(the hover bike) bypasses the entire Fire Temple by making it last about 5 minutes😂 all the others were really fun though! Also, the "temple" part of the Spirit Temple was actually the Construct Factory, which I actually thought was one of the best and most creative dungeons in the game! The idea of using the parts in each depot to make different vehicles was incredibly clever and very original!

The water temple was the one that was a bit lacking in my opinion. Arriving there, I thought it looked way too small, and I didn't expect much since Link wasn't designed to be able to go underwater in BotW and TotK. The boss felt too easy and not that menacing too.

1) Thunder 2) Wind 3) Fire 4) Water 5) Spirit 6) Hyrule Castle I think the overall package is good for the game. I am someone who liked the Divine Beasts for their non linearity, so I wasn’t that affected by the dungeons being non-traditional. I think even for the weaker dungeons, like the Water, their set up and intro really evens it out. Overall, I’d say they are among the best parts of the game.

My temple ranking list: 5. Spirit Temple: Construct Factory had some mini-puzzles too easy to me and the Spirit Temple was just one room with an elevator :/ (also, I did more damage with out the mech than with it) 4.Water Temple: It is a collection of 4 small islands in the sky with lazy puzzles; I liked the bubble system though, I think it was so fun in my opinion. 3. Fire Temple: I liked so much the minecarts system and the music was awesome, it was full of lava everywhere and that touched my Ocarina heart. And I loved they put Gohma back. 2. Wind Temple: They way to reach the dungeon was original, fun and awesome , and I could feel the hurracaine strength trying to catch me lol. The dungeon was so easy but fun and I like the room where you had to avoid the lasers jumping off the Top of the Arc. The boss mechanic was SO original and the music Gold. 1.Lightining Temple: The fact was a pyramid just blew my emotions. I felt like if I were in Indiana Jones. I loved how gibdos were messing around and they were hiding in tombs like in Ocarina. The light mechanic in the main room was lit so original, it took me a bit long to understand though. And THE QUEEN GIBDO BOSS was freaking cool, I was with all my avatars fighting, gibdos were going down the ceiling flying and crawling and It was one of the best temples of the series tbh. Plus , I shocked when the Gerudo Citadel was infected of gibdos, like Hyrule Citadel from Ocarina after growing up. CONCLUSION: I think that temples improved so much from divine beasts but I excepted they all were like Wind and Lightining Temple. I think that in most of the temples, the way to reach it is cooler than the own temple. This doesn’t care me because the main reasons I played Zelda TOTK and BOTW was because they are open worlds and they have a mystical ambience, plus zelda games are so cool. I actually was shocked at the quality of these I dont like em as much as say skyward swords dungeons but I felt they were pretty solid especially after the divine beasts to me they felt more like traditional dungeons then divine beast my ranking 6 fire 5 water 4 castle (better in botw) 3 spirit 2 lightning 1 wind

Here’s my ranking and critique of ToTK’s dungeons: 1. The Lightning Temple - the one issue I have is that it has three puzzles, bc moving blocks out of a wall isn’t a puzzle. I’d add and electric current puzzle to unlock the first battery. 2. The Fire Temple - too much of the dungeon can be skipped through climbing, ascending, and paragliding. I’d close off the gongs more to prevent players from not engaging with the puzzles, and incorporate ascend into intended solutions. 3. The Wind Temple - similar to the complaint about the Gerudo dungeon, the first turbine doesn’t have a puzzle. I’d expand the interior of the giant tower to have a puzzle involving fire and ice. 4. The Water Temple - it’s a collection of sky islands and not a temple. The regional quest could be about stopping a sludge hurricane in the lower sky, and to reach it is to ascend up to it from the bottom. Also, there’d be five puzzles. 5. The Spirit Temple/Construct Factory - The Construct Factory has pretty simple Zonai device puzzles, but The Spirit Temple is just a boss fight. Instead of the path to the temple being the place where you use Mineru’s abilities, the temple should be the place to use them. 6. Hyrule Castle/Forgotten Foundation - it’s just a bunch of combat trials, so I’d add more puzzles bc the only puzzle involves creating a rocket plane where you can’t access Sage abilities.

Fire temple was the worst imho, and I completely broke it by using ascend and paragliding everywhere. At least the water temple was fast and easy. The thunder temple is by far the best with an amazing tomb raider atmosphere

The lightning temple’s sub-name is The Mural’s Myth, Risen from the Sands as it references the Gerudo Mural. Also, I think the divine beasts names come from the sages so Vah Ruta, the water sage I think is called Ruta and etc. Very good ranking! Maybe bosses next?

I disliked the Spirit Temple I found it very boring however it had my second favorite boss fight in the game (behind Ganondorf) and I loved the Thunder temple, my overall rankings: 1. Thunder 2. Wind 3. Fire 4. Water 5. Spirit

The water temple was a nightmare for me because it ran so poorly. It was a powerpoint show with the sludge being spewed. I honestly disliked all these dungeons for being boring, I feel like the bosses improved a lot more. And the kid bird being a companion and not the guy we journeyed with to the divine beast was so awkward, literally every other ally was from the last game. I pray for a Link Between Worlds port or Twilight Princess so we get real dungeons again. For me 5. Spirit, I include building the bot for this but this dungeon and the setup to it was so tedious boring and felt like the trope of the generic end game quest that slows the game to a crawl. 4. Lag (water) temple. decent setup but it just felt boring. 3. Lightning Temple, not bad but I just love the previous sand temples in the series more with their sand staffs and cool bosses, love the gibido's but riju felt kinda weak as a character, she barely aged. 2. Air Temple, I loved the parkour challenge getting here, I loved the shadow of the colossus boss, but everything else is just meh. 1. Fire Temple, I enjoyed this purely because I liked messing with all the buildables and the boss before entering and the one inside, they were actually fun and made good use of the companion goro.

The fire temple ran even worse for me and every time I got on the mine cart it was an assault to the eyes with how terrible it ran even on handheld. Felt like eternity the grueling trek going from one cart to another. Even worse when I took the wrong cart. I said “screw it” and used my hover bike to get around.

I was actually very surprised by this list. First off because I didn't even think to consider hyrule castle a dungeon, so that was odd. But also because I thought the fire temple, while not groundbreaking and certainly no better than anything in the previous games, felt the most like an actual dungeon to me. Meanwhile, the thunder temple felt like a point a to b jaunt where you get stopped to do a puzzle every once in a while. This isn't to hate on you guys though, genuinely like your commentary and don't understand how you aren't a bigger channel yet.

Ya know, while I do think the dungeons in this game are an overall improvement (except the water temple) over Breath Of The Wild and it's "Divine Beasts", one of my biggest issues with them is something seemingly rather small. Yet, I can't help but wonder if it would have hurt the devs to include a map and a compass! Yes, there is technically a map. However, these dungeons lose some of that venturing into the unknown because you no longer have to find it. It's all just laid out from the start. Even more egregious is the lack of a compass. Going through Tears dungeons, I felt absolutely no responsibility to find all the chests. Finding all the chests in a dungeon was one of the funnest parts of exploring them in past 3D Zelda games. Knowing you have a checklist and can 100 percent them. Often running into puzzles based around finding those chests. Here, that is not the case. And since they don't hold keys or really anything all that valuable, they become an afterthought. Instead, Tears dungeons don't encourage exploration, but rather finding the four thingies and dusting your feet off as you leave...

I'm a BIG Zelda fan, but just can't get excited about these temples. After playing all the classic temples from past games, these temples are such a disappointment. I realize that they had to make temples that go along with Link's abilities, but they could've done something similar to Link Between Worlds, where they are actually dungeons but not in a linear fashion. The temples in Link Between Worlds are great, and maybe it's just that Nintendo has run out of creativity for TOTK. Sorry, don't think Nintendo nailed it here. Wish they could've made the temples more classic Zelda.

Still waiting on that "another time" where you go off about how these dungeons completely failed at going back to traditional dungeon design. I think they looked pretty and were more memorable than the divine beasts, but the stupid game design of design beasts is still the same in these. I see way too much praise online for these IMO, sure they're fine, but if nintendo gets the impression that the community is appeased and this is a successful return to form in dungeon design... then we're screwed and will never have a good dungeon again. Lightning temple is the only exception, and even there it's still just ok compared to most traditional dungeons.
