Yes, the Temptations were the best group to grace society. Barry Gordy for suggesting they change their group name, recognizing their talent then signing the group, initially, Smokey Robinson for writing those songs but the Temptations for making their songs and style theirs and theirs alone. The most talented and stylish group ever to be signed in the era of the 60's until they retired. Thank you Otis Williams. You had the best group alive. Temptations forever in our hearts. Would on their radio I listen sweet soul music of 4 tops, temptation the miracles, the Motown. I enjoyed those times getting resupplied at all the fire bases. My grandfather was one of the only black owned night clubs back in the 60’s and early 70’s. His night club was part of the chittlin circuit back in the day when all the greats of that time performed at his club. This awesome music pulsated through out our neighborhood; it was the soundtracks of our youth. We were dirty little kids running around playing our games with this music blasting through early evening air. Awwww. Such memories.
@@johannarhymer1093Yes. Fats Domino visited our home. BB King stepped off his big bus and gave us little snotty nose kids a quarter each (this was during the time penny candy was actually a penny) and of course we happy ran to the store and spent it right away. My mother and her sisters were barmaids baddies & dressed beautifully to go to work. However, they had a reputation of being just as tough as they were beautiful and didn’t mind cracking a few heads of an overly friendly drunk. I remember Little Richard performing, Dinah Washington, Nancy Wilson, Ike and Tina, Patty LaBelle (to name a few). Martin Luther King heard about this black own busy and stopped by to visit and speak with my grandfather. The night club was called Tippin.
