in 1966 the Temptations had FOUR No.1 R&B hits. Every song they released that year was pure gold!!!!! They held the No.1 spot on the charts for 16 weeks, more than any other group going back to 1950 and until the Jackson 5 came along in 1970.

After they harmonize with the *_Ooh hoos_* they almost all were motionless. Paul isn't moving and facing straight ahead as is Blue who's looking to (our) right. Eddie is looking to the right and downward with his right leg moving. Otis is looking up and motionless. When David sings "my girl has found another" Blue and Paul starts swaying on "and gone away." Though we can't see them I believe they all begin moving and breaks into the background when Ruff sings "I know to you..." Temptations 4 Ever! Peace🤩

The songs from Motown were a huge part of our lives in the 60s and 70s. We were blessed to have it all on the radio: Temptations, Zeppelin, Micheal, Yes, Tina, Floyd, Beatles, Stevie, Stones great great times to get high and love life.

I'm a 54 yr old white dude born in December '68. I really feel like I grew up in the "sweet spot" of music. Not too far removed from Motown and the 60's Rock groups. My Mom ALWAYS had the radio on and tuned to either "Top 40” or "Oldies" station. My Dad was a huge Elvis fan. My Italian Grandma played Frank and Dean and my Great Aunt's would sing Italian and Big Band era songs at family reunions. The 70's had a big 50's nostalgia due to "American Graffiti" and "Grease." Which spawned "Happy Days" and "The Stray Cats." My buddies and myself would buy 50's music cassettes at the same time we bought KISS, LYNYRD SKYNYRD and EDDIE MONEY, etc. albums. Man we were lucky and spoiled. Ha! I'd give anything to go back to 5th grade. That's when I peaked. Ha!

This is an example of Black Musicians and Performers that influenced so many young British Men in the UK and led to the British Invasion. This cross Atlantic exposure of Black Americans performing in Europe had been going on continuously since the end of WW One My Dad was from Scotland and he played all kinds of Records of the music that he grew up listening to through the 1930's and 1940's. I remember listening to this music between the ages of 4 to 10 years old.{ 1964- 70 } My favorite recordings were by the Mills Brothers. Four real brothers who were Black and sang in such Beautiful Harmony, it was Magical to me as a young boy. I haven't looked, but there must be some Mills Brothers on KZbin. Probably the most viewed video would be just fine to react to. The Mills Brothers are like the OG's of Black Vocal Harmony Mastery, that would have such a profound influence on music in the future. 🎶"Listen to the Music"🎶 Peace from 🇨🇦 🕊

I relate to listening to my parents' music, including The Mills Bros. I made a Playlist of my dad's favorites! Always feel him with me when I'm listening to those Old songs. Enjoyed your memories ✨️ My dad never sang, but he could whistle just like a voice singing. Wish I had made a tape of him doing that. Miss it and (you) Dad ❤

I love the Temptations this song was used in a repeating refrain throughout the movie "Four Brothers" starring Mark Wahlberg as Bobby Mercer, Tyrese Gibson as angel Mercer, ex-Marine and hustler Andre Benjamin as Jeremiah Mercer and Garrett Hedlund as Jack the youngest Mercer. Super good movie if you haven't seen it I would recommend it. But I would also like to suggest another group to give a listen, if interested. "Ain't Going To Hurt Nobody - Brick" --Brick was formed in Atlanta, Georgia in 1972 by Regi Hargis from two members of two bands, one disco and the other jazz. And They coined their own term for the music and called it disco-jazz. There most popular single was "Dazz" I really enjoyed this one fella it sure brought back some fond memories thanks so much for sharing. You pops has great taste in music 🎶 🎶

This was The Temptation's great studio album, released in 1968 via Gordy Records. It was the final release from the group's "Classic-5". The Temptation and Four Tops are essential music to this very day. Gotta listen to this original soul. It's sooooooo good. The term "They Don't Make Music Like That Anymore" was invented because of talent like this.

Thanks for keeping our heros and heroines from the past on the screens who made it possible for all of those who successfully followed. It was actually that specific generation who knocked it out the park in the music industry and opened doors that would have NEVER opened for today's African-American generation of talent were it not for them.

Motown was such a factory, not in a bad way, but they covered everything from song, arrangement, footwork, great backing musicians, great recording studio presence, engineering, producing and marketing finesse. I also loved Stax which was great musicians in a more laid back atmosphere, like Otis Redding, Aretha, Booker T. & the MGs, etc. Both models produced music I grew up with (70 years old).

Thank you for this! Yes, this is the 'Classic' line-up that most people prefer. Everyone at their peak. David Ruffin should be way more famous. Eddie Kendricks should be too. He also had a great solo career. Paul Williams did all the choreography. He was also a great singer who sang lead before David was in the group. I am not a fan of Otis Williams for a variety of reasons. He got stage fright before these performances. Not much of a dancer or singer. He probably just didn't want to screw up and make the guys mad at him. LOL Try reacting to these songs: You'll Lose a Precious Love, Since I Lost My Baby, I Know I'm Losing You.

I love David Ruffin, but Dennis Edwards is a part of so many more classic Tempts' hits and an unmistakable voice in their history. He's on their first two Grammy winners ("Cloud Nine" and "Papa Was a Rollin' Stone") and it's his voice that's front and center on one of the finest -- if not THE finest -- Temptations albums, A Song for You.
