I first saw a Tenkara rod 15 years ago from my Japanese Father in Law. I had no idea how it was used to fish with. I now fish tenkara style and really enjoy it. Your English is impressive. Keep making videos you are doing such a great job. I lived in Japan for 14 years and never fished there. I regret it now.

I bought a tenkara rod for the first time this year, it was really fun to catch 20" trout with in the big river near me. These rods are stronger than they look, I was catching fish in water moving around 900ft/h.

I really enjoyed this video. Your English is very good, by the way. I have fly-fished with a rod and reel for many years, but two years ago I took up tenkara fishing in Wales. I love its simplicity. However, I find it difficult because it's necessary to approach very close in order to cast to a trout, and I often scare the fish.

Hi ! I'm from the French Alps and I've started Tenkara in July of this year, this is a great video for learning ! What is the size of your level line ? For me it's #3.5 but for the next year I want to try smaller size like #2.
@fishermansspoon6 жыл бұрын
SkayToo Thank you for watching my video. I also use the level line of # 3.5 normally.,and using # 2.5 when the fish is nervous. However, windy day has many troubles when using a light line. Tenkara is easy and simple, but it is very impressive😀😀
@fishermansspoon5 жыл бұрын
Seth Kroppsterapi If the wind was not strong, I would use level line # 3, but in this video the wind was a bit strong so I used # 3.5😙😙

Hi i'm from Australia i am a fly fisher look to do some Tenkara fishing with your flies. what depth can you fish your flies in our streams, they are about 10 cm to 180 cm . What level line do you recommend for this scenario and length. can you fish your flies as dry and/or wet. My plan was to come to Japan this year however Covid19 put a stop to it, hopefully it will be better next year. Looking forward to your feedback

Are you adding any motion to the fly, or does it twitch and dance on its own in the current?
