So if you go back and watch the whole series again, you will notice how Ed ages subtly through every episode. It's small changes that you don't notice at first until they all start coming together. It's so much like real life in that regard and I love the animators of this series for that alone

If I got my timeline right there should be about two months between the first episode and now, a little more. for a boy that age, two months can make a big difference. Not to mention that showing him growing up slowly of course parallels his emotional growth as well (Like when Winry notices his back has gotten broader)
