A great time at The Tent with Melissa and Karry. Catching lots of fish. Fish fry. Zach and Rose. Chunky and Joanie. All I can say is that it was an awesome trip to The Tent.

Thank you for inviting us into your life. We enjoy the time we spend at our cabin in South central Wisconsin as well. The solitude these places bring is priceless! And the brilliance of the stars at night is beyond belief, the milky way is so clear! Enjoy your time there!

Here in Maine it was 92 yesterday. Then that cold front came through and this morning it was 40° and it only got 47° with all the rain we could’ve wanted ! Lol. Great video ! Take care Joe

Ours too. People just are crazy saying they are not good. Learn how to clean them with no bones. Best ever. We prefer them over walleye.

When I had my camp in WI I hung 8 bat houses around the yard. It took two years for the bats to find them but we sure had fewer bugs!

Nice black crappies so healthy and dark from the iron stained waters. The walleyes up there are so nice and golden brown too. We fish hungry jack and pike up there.

I've been fishing Reservation Lake here in AZ all my life. About 20 years ago, someone brought in live crawdads. Now there are thousands! The res is asking people to PLEASE fish them out. Never happen though. To many. Lol.

Weather people are reporting that the middle of the country will have a very warm winter due to El Nino. That includes Minnesota and straight up north in the middle of Canada. 😁

Joe you would benefit greatly from a Clam Outdoors Escape screen tent. I have one at my cabin and one at home. Easy setup to keep gnats and mosquitoes away.

Here where I am at in NC we get about a week to 10 days of them damn pesky gnats every year. Thank God they are gone now. Good Video thanks for sharing

I thought you owned a propane mosquito repellent machine. My grandfather used one at a small farm and we sat out by the fires and didn't get bit up.water, peppermint oil and cider vinegar. At our house we had a huge bug zapper for the back porch. That thing would zap like crazy . Gnats and flies drive people insane. It can ruin fun.

The bugs where so bad, I found myself swatting at the computer screen on 2 occasions and then catching myself realizing its not me. Question - Pops had any type of luck fishing since the opening weekend? Ever figure out what happened to the chimney on the workshop?

Mornings are best. I have always been an early riser. usually in the 4 o'clock hour. My way of thinking is get everything on your list done by noon so you have the next 8 hours to get more done.

What is the minimum size to keep where you are at? Seems you just send Massela out to to bring back dinner. I have only fished Northerns, Walleyes and Pikes in Canada. Getting the Y bone out is a pain. I wonder if that is the same birds every year? I am amazed that people talking about frying food always say it could be greasy when it was cooked in oil. I would never cook in grease. You dad has a beautiful place.

There is no minimum size, we just like the 1.5 to 3 pound fish for eating. Getting the Y bones out goes real fast once you have done it a few times.

Bugspray that you use for mosquitoes with 40% deet works about 10 minutes tops. Stay inside or on the lake, they do not bother you when you are in the middle of the lake.

You release the big ones so they can get bigger, you eat the fish in the 1.5 to 3 pound range so the bigger fish can get bigger with less competition for food.

Yes, it was pretty shallow. They had no eggs in them.

You should look into the Thermocell products. One or two would take care of the entire campfire area and the deck.

@@NorthernSeclusion Joe we use them all the time and they work for us. We use the camp sized ones on our patio. We found that if you start them up and walk away for 10 minutes they clear out all the flies, mosquitos and gnats (no seeums). Good luck finding a solution that works for you.

You can only keep 2 per person so when they are biting like that we throw the smaller keepers back and wait for a little bit bigger keeper.

Grey Jay. Also called camp robbers and whisky jacks. We feet them crackers or bread or peanuts or donuts or even chips. They eat it all.
