The terminators arm was not damaged from getting shot, rather from ramming the cement wall at high speed. T-800’s are rather vulnerable to blunt force trauma.

Wrong! In the screenplay it specifically says Reese shot it in the wrist and it had to perform surgery to remove the slug that was jamming its arm mechanism.

I've always wondered why the terminator took off after the crash. He could have taken those cops. It's not like he cares about additional deaths. Was he damaged? Did he not want to let the police know he was there?

The terminator was wounded he took a shotgun blast to his left eye while driving impacting vision go to KZbin type terminator surgery scene. It is a very cool scene but also disturbing.

Amo Terminator, pero el final de esta persecución no hace sentido, no importa qué tan "lastimado" o dañado esté el exterminador, no tiene ningún sentido que haya huido si después fue a la mismísima estación de policías a recibir cientos de disparos con el único y principal objetivo de aniquilar a Sara. Tal vez habrá quien justifique que el exterminador después se repara a sí mismo del ojo y brazo dañado (muy dañados), pero no creo que esos daños fueran impedimento para ir a cumplir su objetivo después del choque, pues habría de recibir disparos de simples pistolas de mínimo impacto, pero podía ir directo por Sara, o bueno, quizás aun recibir algún disparo del rifle de Reese, pero aun así no me hace sentido la huida. Es simple, un exterminador no huye, va hasta el final por cumplir su objetivo, el "dolor", el daño recibido jamás será impedimento.
