Fun Fact for you, Dasha: In the Dream sequence where Sarah is watching herself when she was in her waitressing uniform, that wasn't scenes of Linda Hamilton in two separate scenes that were spliced together, that was Linda Hamilton and her twin sister Leslie in this scene The same thing with the security guard who got killed off by the T-1000 Terminator (the one dressed like a cop) that was a pair of actors who were identical twins
@Robert_Douglass
@Robert_Douglass 2 жыл бұрын
Leslie also plays the T-1000 in the guise of Sarah in a deleted steel plant scene, but it's glitching and can't fully form her body. When John's mom, the real Sarah Connor, shows up and says "Get away from it, John!", that wasn't spliced footage either.

yep, the musical cues reinforce that. That's one of the many things I love about it, it goes beyond the AI = bad, humans = good logic of the original, by showing how a traumatised human trying to survive (and Skynet and all the Terminators are just trying to survive) can be cold and machine-like, and mirroring that of course how a machine can develop a human soul and choose to sacrifice himself and coming to understand why humans cry Also lol'd tho at him explaining how he can suture a bullet wound by saying 'I have detailed files on human anatomy', then seeing john cry 5 minutes later asking 'what's wrong with your eyes'

@Dasha, both the US and the USSR (and later Russia) had Mutually Assured Destruction (MAD) as their fundamental nuclear weapons strategy. It is amazing that after the first movie, where they created a seemingly undestructable machine which never stops and where a human pretty much doesnt have a chance, they came up with the idea in the 2nd one to make him a protector. so one might think, oh yeah with that thing on humans side, nothing could go wrong. except that they came up with the T1000 who has such a technological advance compared to the T800 similar to the strenght gap of ther first movie between the T800 and Kyle Reese. what I liked most is that just like in the first movie, the T800 just kept coming back over and over and over again until it succeeded its mission.

After everything she went through in the first one, Miss Connor wasn't screwing around! :D Joking aside, it's great character development: becoming what she is and then, on the verge of going too far, she breaks down and realizes she's becoming more of a Terminator than an actual Terminator. And it's great that Arnie's Terminator also had his own arc of learning and realization.

You'll notice that like in T1 the 'Arnold Model' is determined to accomplish it's mission, no matter what damage it endures. In T1, this terrifying in an unstopppable serial killer kind of way, but in T2, it's like a loyal pet who takes a beating to protect it's owner, and it saddening to watch. Same Model but different mission: In one movie you're terrified of it and in the other you weep for it. James Cameron IS a Genius movie maker!

Fun fact, all times the T1000 duplicates someone who is still in frame, you don't see terrible 90"s blue screen artifacts because identical twins were used. This includes Sarah Connor at the climax of the movie. Linda Hamilton's twin sister Leslie played the T1000 in that scene. This is Leslie's only film credit as an actor, as acting is not her career.

I've seen this movie countless of times. How have I not heard of this before? Also is it luck or did they plan villain of T2 when they picked Hamilton as the lead in the first movie?

@@ratflail215 the scene where sara looks in the mirror but you can't see the camera behind her in the "reflection" was filmed the same way.. not an actual mirror but a window with linda's twin sister behind it 😉 as for your question, i don't know but i'm quite certain they did not plan that far ahead

This and your reaction to the first one are both great! The emotional response you had to both but especially this one was so genuine and wonderful! It's nice to see you simply letting your feelings run their course rather than trying to control what you're audience is seeing of you. Fantastic! I have some advice for you if you don't mind however, please don't watch any more terminator movies! Please! All of them from here on out are pale shadows in comparison to the 2 you've watched. The movie company only made the rest to make money and that just doesn't work! There is no reason for the rest of them. None! Please do yourself a favour and never watch the rest! Not only are they terrible, they'll possibly ruin how you see 1 and 2! Again, please don't! 🤔😁👍

Fun Fact: the scenes with the Asylum Guard and Sarah Connor facing the T-1000 when it looked like them was achieved with practical effects. Those actors have twins and they were brought in to make it believable.

You said you were going to watch it again, please watch the Special Edition with 16 minutes of extra footage which will fill in some gaps. The Theatrical ending is the best, so I'm glad you watched this first, but definitely catch the extended edition!

I loved this movie, and Robert Patrick was amazingly good as the "evil" cyborg, the T-1000. But, so you know, this is pretty much the last good movie in the series. Don't watch any of the others that come after. This was an awesome final chapter to the original.

I saw Terminator 1 as a child and was 15 when I gathered the cash to go see Terminator 2, seeing Arnold switch sides for the first time was mind blowing. Each further sequel after T2 fails miserably with re-capturing the magic, the new films with big budgets forget that T1 was a great film with a tiny budget that told a great story. We can thank James Cameron for the memories as they can't or don't make films like Terminator 1 and 2 any more.

Dasha's in love with a Terminator, LOL! One of the greatest action/scifi movies of all times, in my opinions. I saw this in the theater when it first came out and couldn't wait to take my girlfriend to see it. She wasn't all that impressed and I broke up with her soon after. Perhaps Dasha can go back in time and date younger me?
