This man figured it out. The element missing from every Terminator movie after T2: horror. First Terminator was about escaping an unstoppable hulking monster like Jason or Michael Myers. T2 was about outwitting a sleeker smarter Terminator, like Freddy or Pennywise. We need that horror aspect back.

Typical T2 elitist. You're either a fan of the franchise or you're not. Don't hide behind the first two movies and claim that you're a fan
@marcfuchs693810 ай бұрын
@@brandondesroches8955 You have a point, but also you don't. Being fan of a franchise doesn't obligate you to like every iteration the franchise spits out. And Terminator has become a very good eample for the trend of Hollywood, that their creations just get worse and worse. I personally love the franchise, as in, I love the whole concept of Skynet and the machine war and all the details basically thought out by James Cameron. But do I love all movies? Absolutely not. You can love and you can hate movies of a franchise, this says nothing about your fan status. It just displays your satisfaction with those iterations of the franchise. Here is an nalogy: Let's say you owned a Ford in 1980 and you liked it. Does that mean, you have to like every model Ford ever produces? Are you not allowed to dislike other Ford models, despite them changing literally everything about a vehicle? Of course you are. What you are saying is, that people would be obligated to be fanboys because they like a franchise to some degree - and fanboy fandoms are some of the worst things on the internet. And concerning Terminator, 98% of all people agree, that T1 and T2 were masterpieces and from there on, it went downhill. When everybody agrees on a collective opinion, something that is subjective, you can't just come around the corner and say, everybody is wrong. We are not talking about math, where there are objective right and wrong statements. We are allowed to like and dislike whole franchises, but also since iterations within those franchises. You may get the feeling, that it is elitism, but that's only the impression, because T2 simply is that good, that almost nobody dislikes it. But it's no elitism, it's a simple opinion. T2 being good doesn't mean T6 being good. Simple as that.

@aigoru871811 ай бұрын
There's another, in my opinion at least. The infiltrator caressing the door like a sociopath is distracting. It's a killing machine. That's what Cameron managed to capture so freaking well in the first film, the economy of movement was the creepiest part of it. The machine is really scary because of what it is not able to do, it can only imitate the form but not the content.

If only James Cameron collaborate with PREY director and sanction with OK budget to make a Terminator like the Original with new story, i think its going to be very entertaining.

The problem with the Terminator series is that they prefer to keep making the same box office friendly trash over and over again to secure Schwarzenegger another big paycheck. Instead, just reboot the franchise right after T2 and have it follow John Connor’s journey to becoming the leader of the Resistance. Then progress the series forward with the Future Wars. Not this “time travel” “come with me if you want to live” bullshit. Everyone wants to see full length films of the war. Not Arnold running around and stealing the spotlight from the other cast members for 2 and a half painstaking hours.
