The recent period of 30 degree plus temperatures has made the wheat fit for combining quicker than expect but with storms forecast, could we get the harvest completed before the rain arrived? Find out here.

Hollywood employs countless writers and directors in mega-budget productions and yet can't produce anything as entertaining as Harry explaining farming, racing a storm to finish the harvest :) Let's see the twists and turns of the next season!

I remember so many days like that on my parents' farm - tension, pressure and at times frayed nerves - that's farming in New Zealand too. Well done, Harry and good riddance to 2020 from over here too.

As a child, forty something years ago we had cornfields near our home and my Dad used to take me to watch the harvesting. As an adult, 50 in November, I still love to watch it especially in the dark.

Your films are a joy and remind me of my Great Uncles farm in Somerton, Somerset who was very traditional in that everything was from horse dawn days plus a threshing machine and several very elderly Fordson tractors, one or two of which worked! In the 1950,60’s it was a picture book but probably highly inefficient. He never worried..as long as they had something to eat, he didn’t care. I wish I had pictures to show but Harry...keep cutting, ploughing and seeding...it makes us feel good! 😀😀😀😀

A very edifying watch indeed. If only more content was so informative and authentic. The frenetic pace to complete the harvest before the inclement weather closed in was genuine suspense and entertainment. I derive a vicarious pleasure watching a vocation that I’ve always felt affiliated to!

Hi harry, enjoy your videos. we finished harvest on the 12th, also glad to see the bsck of this one, but as annoying as rain is at harvest i would be happy to see some. In my part norfolk we haven't had any for weeks missing the storms so far and it lokks like the next batch coming on the 14th will miss us as well. The sugar beet leaves are on the floor each day now and are really struggling. What a season.

My uncle had a farm of about 60 acres. He had a Dronninborg trailed combine with initially a four foot cutting head, then he traded up to six feet. It took a week to cut twenty eight acres of Barley, but they really were happy days.

I was in Perthshire last week, lots of fields of very short wheat and barley due to May's drought. Not much harvesting yet, but the area did get the storms last week, last Wednesday night was an 8 hour continual thunderstorm and very heavy rain. The huge areas of flattened crops the day after was disheartening.

the Wellness Channel first time watcher from Canada..two questions. First. You mentioned 28day payment terms, is that normal? Here it’s next business day if delivered to and elevator or 10days if to an end user. Second.. I noticed when you were finishing the loading of the linseed, that the trucker had the hoist partially raised? Some sort of on-board weigh system?

While we are asleep people working through the night making sure our food supply chain is maintained ,deliveries being made ,agricultural machinery suppliers making sure there are spares for equipment , we have so much to be thankful for that hidden army ,next time you are going to chuck something in the bin because you have bought too much,or just got fed up with it ,think on and be grateful for our farmers ,Support uk suppliers ,say no to overseas imports where there good uk suppliers, shop local from shops who buy from local farms ,fresh and maintain img supply chains ;we would be up the creek without a paddle ,1939-53/ proved that! Thanks Harry and all your comrades.

Nice going! But what's this? English weather? Changeable? Surely not... ;-) I think I've been a bit spoiled by Tom Pemberton and Farmer Phil, though: I don't half miss those aerial camera-drone shots. Of all their various applications, I think drones make a tremendous contribution to farming. For ignorant gawpers like me, it's great to see exactly how the jobs and machinery fit the terrain. Or not, as the Case may be (awful pun intended). Some of the hedge lines and field boundaries in Britain are ancient, going back to before Farmer Boudicca was chopping barley and Roman kneecaps with the blades on her Massey Ferguson chariot, so it'd be fascinating to see some more aerial shots of Oxfordshire when time permits. Thanks for another fine video, Harry. (I've just watched it twice.) The sense of urgency and determination comes across really well.

2 tonnes per acre - you will be pleased to see the back of 2020 harvest. I guess prices will rally strongly with overall UK yield being much lower. In low straw yield years does it become viable to bale straw (assuming the livestock farmers will be short) or is revenue outweighed by benefits of incorporating the straw into the soil?

Love Harry's videos- car and farm. However when you look at the farming videos, by Australian standards this is all cottage/hobby farming. As Harry has explained previously, farming in England is only economic via Euro subsidies. Post Brexit, the UK taxpayer/consumer will have to stump up with the subsidy, ultimately paying higher food prices, which is fine as long as everyone understands what the gig . Any Australian/NZ "free" trade agreement with with the UK will be comprised by having to compete against UK taxpayer subsidised UK produce.

Why don't we see more grain risers in the UK? Just comparing truck loading with a bucket loader compared with an auger.
