I've never seen such a WRONG and INCORRECT video throughout my 38 years on this planet. The mere IDEA that TURBO could be flat is astounding. This is so un-ignorable that I felt forced, nigh OBLIGATED to leave a comment here. I wish, just for a moment, that KZbin would add back the dislike button so you could see the pure INEPTITUDE that you possess. Honestly, it's almost breathtaking for someone to think that the 2013 CLASSIC wasn't at least one of the greatest movies of the decade, let alone the fact that this easily surpasses almost all other DreamWorks movies. If you look into the story of how Turbo was created, it's so much more than just a "snail that goes fast" (0:25). The creators intended it to be a similar plot to the original Fast and the Furious movies, but accessible to the younger generation. They even had little jokes relating to this fact, including the race scene where Turbo gets his powers. Also, one of the mainstays of the Fast and Furious saga is Michelle Rodriguez, who voices Paz, the strong and gender-role breaking mechanic who helps make the shells for the racing snails. Also, this movie argues against the point you THOUGHT you made at 14:11, with the idea that local mom and pop shops are truly falling victim to the greed of corporations, and that racing in the Indianapolis 500 was a bad thing. Shame on you, Darryl, shame on you. This film single-handedly brought racing into the forefront of children's media after the great, but spy-focused Cars 2 movie came out 2 years ago. Furthermore, the entire film itself breaks down gender barriers, through both Paz and Burn, with the plotline following Turbo and Chet being a thinly veiled criticism of transphobia in the modern day. Turbo feels one way about himself, while his stuck-in-the-past brother Chet constantly makes him feel inferior, asks what his problem is, and REFUSES to call Turbo by his preferred name. Chet also seems initially against the idea that Turbo is going to get a new shell, pointing to the difficulties in the world to getting gender-affirming care. At 21:05 you mentioned how the actual merchandizing on the snail was limited, and the sudden success of Turbo changed the entirety of Starlight Plaza, but this idea couldn't be further from the truth. At the end, the winning of Turbo in the Indy 500 monetarily meant very little to the Starlight gang, because they already brought a snail into the race, and the instant emergence of Turbo as a Pop Icon with the hit song "That Snail Is Fast", so every single one of Angelo and Tito's tears is directed at the fact that Turbo reached his goal, his zenith, rather than them trying to line their pocket books. Turbo very quickly swept across the globe, creating a media frenzy unseen in the racing world since the death of Dale Earnhardt (RIP), so right after they entered Turbo their business starts booming. This is shown when Angelo is cheering on Turbo, because the crowd gathered around the Dos Bros Taco Stand is quite larger than average. The ending of the movie alone makes me cry every time, and the fact that you decided to wake up and disgrace an absolutely stellar movie leaves a sour taste in my mouth. Maybe it's because you never quite felt like you didn't belong, or never accomplished anything to the extent that the characters in this movie. The winning feelings don't just stop at Turbo winning the race, and the Starlight gang making money, but Chet completely turns around from a snail constantly afraid of the outside world, to a confident man who can look after himself and carry his head high. I can only dream that you decide to rewatch this movie now with this new information, but I can't control you. Also, if you read this whole thing to this point and agree with the statements above, make sure to follow @TurboTheMovie on Instagram, where you can see various Turbo posts and even get featured on the story.

Seeing this as a kid I just loved it because it had fast stuff and race cars, but watching it again recently I now see there's a lot more of it too, it shows that anyone can follow their dreams no matter how big it is or how small they are as long as you put your mind to it, thus Underrated and one of my most favorite DreamWorks franchises

I, and suprisingly many others, really liked this movie. Yeah, sometimes the movie moves 'like a snail', but the parts that I like are amazing, and it looks really good in parts ngl!

This movie would've be unwatchable for me if it wasn't for Taco Man Tito who actually made me sit through the whole thing. Still this movie although pretty mediocre is pretty nostalgic to me.

I don't think this is the predecessor to the famous quippy Ryan Reynolds. Without looking it up I'm fairly confident Van Wilder came out before Turbo.

Petition to make this movie the Morbius of Dreamworks history where we meme it to death despite it offering little sustenance as a film

I watched this film in a really bad hotel in France, middle of nowhere after breaking down 5 times. We ate slightly microwaved food and several of my teeth fell out whilst watching. It was really cold Simply put, I think this film cursed me

Honestly, if the movie maker was intending to capture typical "Car Guy" interactions, this sadly is accurate. Most Car Guys only respect speed these days. That's why at 9:30 the MC looked down on the other people who in theory "Have his same interest" I have never been in a more self-destructive, more "I'm unique, but wait, you like what I like? no you don't. You're not as cool as me" kind of community than Cars.

I remember watching this film as a good. And it’s so clear that if the story had just been tweaked in some places this could have been a really good film. Like you’ve mentioned a couple times, they had some really cool shots. Not to mention the star studded cast. And yeah the film’s animation style isn’t too bad either.

Dazz, there is a better way to watch this movie. Just imagine this entire movie is just a hallucination caused by Vertigo while fighting Deadpool. Then it suddenly becomes the best movie ever.

I remember Turbo being one of my favorite Dreamworks movies of all time (mostly because I was into racecar driving at the time) before How To Train Your Dragon changed my life, and while it's not my favorite anymore, I still look back on this movie with fondness and remember some of the more positive things about this movie then the negative, and the Netflix TV series Turbo F.A.S.T is suprisingly pretty good...at least the first season is.

To be honest, it wasn’t that bad, although the plot would’ve been better if he just got squashed within the first 10 minutes of the race 🤷♀️

Review the Turbo FAST / Turbo: Fast Action Stunt Team series, please. In the light of terrible megamind you can review how Dreamworks actually made awesome series out of the mid cartoon. It's actually amazing, the humor is kind of even adultish sometimes (jokes about dy1ng, fans that are creeps, hardcore haters from the internet, to name a few), the animation is so fluid and fresh, they even made changes to the crew so they all feel like separate characters, that even got developed. It's a show, that any kid and any adult can enjoy. Also, they decided to tone down human interactions and make jokes about absurdity of the movie and some plot points. It's just like writers decided to make an amazing series out of some mid movie about snails for no reason. There are so many new characters and all of them are insects and some kind of small animals and that's an awesome route that they choose. I really recommend this one because it's one of the best series, and it's so funny that it came from that boring movie about snail racer.

In all honesty I remember seeing that movie when it came out and from what I remember, this movie is just it’s okay. It’s like the kind of movie where when you have completely forgotten about the plot, characthers the whole thing, then it’s kind of enjoyable. It’s not one that you can watch over and over again and still find yourself laughing or still be entertained but you can watch it again, just minimal laugh a downgrade to chuckles I’d say
