@-Alluvium-3 ай бұрын
@@WobblesandBeanFor Valle Verde or Tharsis? Tharsis is actually it's own project, I started it a while before the pandemic and took me two years to animate four minutes (Most of it is shown on EP02) I used very rough 3D models to help me as a movement reference, to keep them consistent, but every frame is drawn and painted by hand (Digitally, of course, with a Wacom tablet) so that it looks like Patlabor/GiTS, I did the same for the Valle Verde intro, but this time, imitating the Porco Rosso style, mainly. I love how 90s anime looks so having the opportunity to make animated intros in that style is great 😁

I love seeing Alluvim in the comments sharing extra details, and as I do every time I must thank him for all his hard work!! I am an autistic person who struggles with genre and catagorization, so while I can *recognize* similar styles I can never put it to words. The ability to not only tap into various styles but *within the same project???* truely amazing, something that makes me happy to be alive at the time that I am. ❤

Thank you again for covering this project and adding to the voices I can listen to while idiating upon my own theories ❤

@@nasxeenso far the imagry has brought up facets of Judao-Christian beliefs, or the beleifs of the early Christians and the trials the early faith faced, along with the Catholic imagry of the rosary and the church. In Judaism, Satan is not a character. Instead, in the o.g hebrew, god has a servant called ha sataan, ha being definutive article The and Sataan being accuser, a legal title we'd understand as the Prosecuter, the one who tests humanity on god's behalf and puts them through Old Testament stuff. In direct translations, Satan is not a character, its a title, and the evils humanity must resist come in the forms of demons, false idols, and one's own overindulgances. I was raised Christian but took an interest in Judaism that later expanded to world religions, and with Baal here that goes to the story of Moses. Our player character has mirrored Moses's journey in a few ways, most key being going up on high to talk to god about some ground rules for existance and TEST05 meeting with Nottt. Also tracks cause the next ep is human sacrifice time and when Moses came down from the mountain the people had grown anxious and began doing pegan rites to try and save themselves from dying in the desert. I remember Moses getting kinda shouty with the backsliders, but not much else. Bible stories blur into the story of mana and quail, the Wandering The Desert part of that story... which feels like happened when accessing Yikes Fog Land Where All Wishes To Eat Your Polygons, but going into the darkness could also be facing fear or general adversity. The bitch witb allegory is its *all* in how ya read it XD

18:42 just wanna mention that the paintings name, “La Fille de la Lumiere Rose” is French for “The Girl of Pink Light.” ‘Fille’ is actually pronounced with a silent L, more like the word “Feel” in English, and ‘Lumiere’ is pronounced like ‘Loo-Me-Air’. Otherwise your pronunciations were great! (:

@@nasxeen don’t worry, French is a stupid and confusing language that not even native speakers (me) can always understand! btw loved the video too, Valle Verde is one of my favourite ARG/Analog Horror series and seeing it get covered by you was really cool!
@regalseagull3 ай бұрын
@@screenedat0m Tbh, French isn't *that* confusing, it has its own logic, if you know how to pronounce a specific cluster if letter in a word, you'll be able to pronounce that cluster in any other word. The reason it's so difficult for English speakers is because there is almost no overlap in the prononciation of words, as opposed to speakers of other Romance languages. Yes, , English has a lot of French loanwords, but they aren't *actually* pronounced like in French.

5:23 Another small detail, so small that its hard to make out but I've gone over the frames in the segment over and over and the more I look the more certain I become; the homes of the Taken children appear to have doors left open / ajar. 32:35 dont know how many people might already have said this, but Pietro seems to be the spanish version of Peter, which implies to me, along with Pietro being right behind the Pearly Gates, that he is in fact the Saint Peter who guards the gates of heaven and allows souls entry. EDIT: Main comment unaltered for posterity, but it has been made clear to me Pietro is not Spanish for Peter, it is Italian for Peter. Spanish for Peter is Pedro. I don't think this significantly detracts from the larger point, which is that Pietro is probably a stand-in for Saint Peter.

@@DeadlyAntelope That is interesting. Doesn't Valley Verde have predominantly Spanish language used in it? But then, there might not be an overarching language being used here, and with a lot of traditional Christian traditions references it might make sense for the name of the guardian to be Italian, as Vatican City is the current heart of the oldest branch of the religion. So as far as I'm concerned the Father Pietro here is likely still Saint Peter.
@DeadlyAntelope3 ай бұрын
@@Deathstorm501 Valle Verde means Green Valley in spanish, and the whole dialogue is in spanish except for the start of the conversation with Nottt and the THBrain menu. And yeah, you're most likely right with Father Pietro being Saint Peter.

Am I the only one who thinks the bit with the digging up the tape should have been omitted? I dunno, I just think it'd be more cohesive if we never had that as the framing narrative. It should have just been uploaded without explanation. I think that would have been spookier.
@IAMXVII24 күн бұрын
I agree with this take that it sort of takes away the spookiness, it's meant to be an ARG. The creator went lengths to make a pretend vlog that you'd commonly see on Tiktok/Instagram as if "Hey look! I found this game!". It's meant to convince you that this REALLY happened, and he didnt cheap out on the effort either, those vlogs he made have some clues and even tie in with the rest of the content.

Ever notice how Mattias' "profile pic" looks a lot like (and probably is) Alluvium, or rather him when he was a kid? Like look at him in the introduction vid, then back to Mattias, there's a pretty noticeable resemblance mainly with the eyes. I'm thinking the TH Brain *does* copy the consciousnesses of those who play it, like in that one Star Trek episode of Black Mirror. Here's what I think: Mattias/Alluvium was one of the test subjects back in the 90s. While playing, his mind was copied onto Valle Verde, likely without his knowledge or even being aware of it happening, and whether it be simple repression of his memory or the TH Brain having something to do with it, he forgot about his experience playing the game. Whether it be dumb luck or even divine intervention, he stumbled across the buried footage out in the woods and dug it up.
