I believe Ed got along well with the youth because he seen himself as a kid too or at least recognize himself at a similar level in maturity. Because of the way he was raised as if growing would be against his mother's wishes. He worshipped her and always did what she told him as a child and bever gave him room to mature

I blame his family and the town. When Ed's mother died the towns people should have soleen the signs of mental disorders but instead they'd point their fingers and laugh even showed examples on encouraging others to make fun of him then they got mad when they lost people when if they did they're parts and get Ed help they may have not lost anyone so what do they do burn down his house because the town didn't want to be reminded of their own mistakes not because what he did was so heinous that they can handle it tmbc they don't give 2 flying f's about a few lost people they're selfish and wrong and they didn't want the world to flaunt it in their faces everyday if they had a tourist attraction right in front of them.

All the 'facts' regarding George's early history are either a complete fabrication or grotesque exaggeration. George was the ONLY wage earner in the 13 years they were in La Crosse- Augusta never held a job after she married. Augusta grabbed Ed's... Yeah, right- and how did that accouunt ever get passed down, exactly? Poorly researched as far as the factual is concerned.
