Yuko should've gone to her ancestral hell when she killed her ancestor. The entire folklore is just annoying coz why would you do all of that without consequences?
@MorganVsTheInternet8 күн бұрын
The realm Chiyo created wasn't hell, it was a place in the afterlife that she controlled, and Yuko took over after killing her!
@Scion1418 күн бұрын
Many religions have their own versions of "Heaven", some sort of "Hell", if there is any, and some other realms. Hell is Christian creation. The story clearly isn't based on Christianity.

What america did to Japanese Americans during the war was inexcusable. The all Japanese U.S Army unit was/is one of the most decorated units in the army and were often used as cannon fodder. There were so few left after the war that during an award ceremony the officer in charge became angry at the lack of attendance only to be told that the few in front of him were all that was left. The 442nd was the unit their motto was "Go for broke"

It tarnishes the legacy of one of our greatest presidents. It took us too long to properly acknowledge these crimes, as well. The fact that many survivors of this still love America as patriots and as natural born citizens says a lot. A lot about Japanese-American culture, about the people and about America in general. That's one thing with America that previous empires failed at: we protect our right to investigate ourselves and we have developed an instinct to seek the truth even if it's gonna hurt. DOes that excuse internment camps, slavery, and smallpox blankets? Of course not. But it's more than just to appease our modern guilt

Try watching it yourself. It's one of the worst drop offs of any show ever. It's legit awful sadly
@noyoucantnoicantnowecantsostop8 күн бұрын
Nah, it's better. You get to understand the "why" and "how" of all things happening in the S2's story as it's still tied to a real event (not the whole malevolent spirit deal, but the japaneses' struggles). Hence making it more interesting. S1 is also based on a real event, but it's still from ages of discoveries and so little known about the events happening during the exact disappearance in detail, so it leaves smaller room to empathize and akin more towards any character or group than S2

So s2 is not the continuation of the lost ship crews.
@noyoucantnoicantnowecantsostop8 күн бұрын
No, tho they intentionally left it at a cliffhanger for a convenient & typical purpose of continuing the storyline if it get a booming demand at any time. It's been 6 years since S1 anyways. S3 is definitely going to be a completely different story too if it ever see the daylight and not just a typical journalists' "rumor" slop

Yeah, As an American I feel nothing but DEEP shame for our treatment of the Japanese. They were American CITIZENS FFS! My family came to American (I've been told) to escape The Nazi's in 1938. We didn't treat the Japanese as badly as the Reich treated Jews, but that isn't saying much! WW2 shaped my, and many others, family life and dynamics, for generations to come. I guess that's why as a descendant of German Jews I get so tickled and happy whenever I disagree with someone and I'm called a Nazi! This show was kind of hard to watch. Thanks for the TLDR version!
@vktesla9 күн бұрын
people still insult you by calling you a nazi based on your parents origin country? that sounds a bit suspicious my friend, but if so thats pretty wild.

Don't forget what they did to the native Americans, African Americans and the Chinese
@randomuser35558 күн бұрын
@@vktesla No, no, they don't call me that based on parental ancestry. I get called that when I disagree with almost anybody politically. I'm sorry, it was meant to be a dark little joke. I wasn't serious.

@@VirgoCali89 Nobody, I mean NOBODY in the USA had it as bad as the Native Americans. As far as the other races mentioned, you still see substantial populations of both. How many times how you seen Native Americans just chilling out as a group anywhere other than a reservation. As late as the 1970's and 80's Doctors would sometimes sterilize native woman after they gave birth, WITHOUT any repercussions. If ANYONE deserves to be protected it would be them.
@VirgoCali898 күн бұрын
@@randomuser3555 Thank you for saying that, it's so true. My daughter is native American, Alaskan and African American. She goes to the reservation for summer vacation and Christmas vacation, she says it's hard when she comes back home because she feels alone

As someone whose ACTUALLY READ a lot of the immigrant stories from the US these "mean white racist" stories piss me off. Most of the white population were Christian. They weren't perfect, but they were fairly nice people. It's actually amazing how many 20th century "normal" relationships people had bad then (not dating obviously). But they were good friends and converts. On average people from that era treated Japanese (before the war) BETTER than Japanese treat foreigners NOW. (And they treat them pretty good, just not usually allowed to advance super far, or ever be considered "real" Japanese.) This is pure race hustler crap.
