Hi, Czech here: it is nice to see that Czech heritage is still ongoing in Texas but you were wrong about Moravian dialect.. it is still alive here :) Moravians never vanished or something like that :) I hope that I will visit Texas one day - at least to taste your version of Koláče :)

You need to Czech out Praha, Texas (near Flatonia) a ghost town dating back to 1850s but every year since 1855 on August 15 comes alive with their annual church home coming !

".... they were illiterate..." Susan probably didn't hear about the compulsory school attendance that was passed in 1774.

+Filip Cvrček I believe she is saying the exact opposite - that they were literate (the point she is making is that well-educated people from a culturally rich country came into the middle of nowhere in Texas and had to make a living there - and did).

Kenney, my great grandfather, Frank Joseph Parma, brought the Bible that has been donated in the museum. Been trying to come and visit with my 89 year old mother, Joetta Parma, Frank was her grandfather and they lived in Dallas after leaving Waco/West area. Frank was a sausage maker when moved to Texas and work at the butcher company in Waco.
