The ironic thing about the 1974 original is that it's been quoted as being one of the goriest, most graphic, bloody films of all time...Yet there's literally no blood and the chainsaw kills (which would indeed be gory) are out of frame, so you really see nothing.

The original movie was way before my time, I'm only 28 but I remember going my aunt's as a child and she had a big attic upstairs full of vhs tapes and movies. My cousin and I found the Texas chainsaw massacre and decided to sneak into the basement to watch it on the other TV. It scared us so bad I made my aunt call my mom to come pick me up, it stuck with me for years and when I rewatched it as a teen it just fascinated me..despite it being comical and shitty it's still one of the greatest horror movies of all time. I have the original leather face tattooed on my arm. It's the cover from the 75 original to go along with my horror theme sleeve on my right arm

I used to use the TCM3 trailer to get a good read on people I dated. If the first date went well I would proceed to show them the TCM3 trailer on the second date. If their response was unfavorable then they got the boot.

Part 3 was actually my fave other then the original due to its dark gritty feeling taking place mostly over night. Say IF Gunnar Hansen had played Leatherface in a part 2 and 3 that were direct continuity to the original and no other films had been made i bet it would have worked. Part 2 would had been more serious but in part 3 the entire family could have either been killed and or arrested / split up. Court trials could have explained what happened to everyone. This different continuity (although i still say parts 1,2, and 3 ARE same cannon as bad as i hated part 2) each time a sequeal came out burned me
