Weird, youtube swallowed my first comment. Nevermind, imma do my best to rephrase it, even though it's never as good the second time over. Basically, the latin phrases in the game are patched together from different exorcism incantatios over the years. The usual style of an exorcism is a plea or hymn (not necessearily to god himself but may be and is actually prefered to be a 'lesser heavenly power' like an archangel or important biblical figure like solomon), followed by a psalm, followed by the actual text of the exocrcism, so theres been quite a few popular versions and ofshoots of different combinations that came and went out of style over the long years. I clearly can identify (in english and latin throughout) 'Vade retro Satanas', parts of the 'Rituale Romanum' with parts of different hymns (One for Michael, one for god, one for mary as far as i can tell). A lot of the rest seems mixed and matched from here and there. But really, as i already said, that's been more or less the name of the game with exorcism for pretty much ever. I see parts of psalm 68 (Cantate regna etc.) here and there among other bits of unsorted scripture. Most of them seem to be similliar or at least of the same origin as the english parts. Interestingly enough, around 12:50 during the graveyard fight, there is apparently part of a hymn to Cernunnos, old celtic god of the hunt, the revel and all wild places. I know a similiar version actually from really really old middle-english/old british practices during like, 1300AD or something like that, an attempt to integrate more and more of the 'heathens' under the umbrella of the church by turning all old gods into angels, faeries, saints and the like. The version i know asks Cernunnos to sing gods praise to the world. I'm not familiar with this version which apparently mixes the 'God is terrible in his own place and will himself thrust virtue etc.' part of the rituale romanum with a hard break suddenly talking about cernunnos. It's a bit weird. But again, translating stuff myself is not my strong suit, i just learned all this stuff while comparing minor differences and evolutions as time moved on. Also the first draft of this was way fancier and i wrote out much more of the translated parts i do remember, but alas, this has to do. Hope this at least sates some curiosity if you stumble upon it :D

I also wanna add that i started studying philosophy, switched to comperative theo, then back to philosophy and then stopped university entirely. I like to mention that because i think it's somehow a really poetic fit for both fields of study.

I just finished this game today - it took me the entire day - and my hands feel like they've been handcuffed to boulders which have been dropped to the bottom of the ocean XD. It's so awesome to be able to watch someone complete it in 28.20 though

hmm looks like the book of exorcisms: "In nomine Patris et fillii et Spiritus Sancti" is Latin for "In the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost/Spirit" according to google.
