@Will__Wonks very well said. I knew this style of music would never sell millions, but I always felt his lyrics, musicality, and his perspective of world politics would be more highly regarded. Matt is very intelligent, and it shines through in his music. I think the majority just don't understand.

Ann Arbor, 1984, I was writing a paper on Seize the Day, listening to this album and heard this line; referenced it to illustrate the plight of the main character. Ahh the good ole days. Not sleeping, smoking cigarettes, trying to be existential.

This is my favorite type of concert recording. Once the song begins, completely Fade Out the audience. That way you focus purely on the music, the vocals, the playing and the sound design

Exactly. I feel like now crowds are more aggressive and just louder in general + for some reason it’s not cut out in the final mix which is a mystery to me. I understand the feeling of the gig but i still would like to listen to music, not random screams in the background.

They have been ending their shows with this gem on the Ensoulment tour and it's an absolutely brilliant choice. It's so anthemic and such a banger, so great live, great keyboards, great drum solo, great sing-a-long choruses. I saw two shows and I wish I could go back and experience it all over again.

The sun is high and I'm surrounded by sand For as far as my eyes can see I'm strapped into a rocking chair With a blanket all over my knees I am a stranger to myself And nobody knows I'm here When I looked into my face It wasn't myself I'd seen But who I've tried to be I'm thinking of things I'd hoped to forget I'm choking to death in a sun that never sets I clogged up my mind with perpetual greed And turned all of my friends into enemies And now the past has returned to haunt me I'm scared of God and scared of hell And I'm caving in upon myself I'm scared of God and scared of hell And I'm caving in upon myself How could anyone know me When I don't even know myself?
