One beautiful conclusion I read about the movie, "He works for his entire life seeking his way to the moment when universe is born, but all he ever wished in the end, is to go back into the moment his first meet her"
@itskelvinn8 жыл бұрын
+MS_ B I saw it as more of a motif for their relationship. Probably his biggest accomplishment was his theory of a spacetime singularity, the origin of the universe. To reverse time and understand that everything was once a single point. At the end of the film, the movie reverses to show the moment he saw her, because that's when everything started. Without her, he probably wouldn't have been able to change the world the way he did.

I see a lot of comments about Dr. Hawking but I want to take a moment to appreciate Jane Hawking. She is the prime example of true, genuine, honest, unconditional love. Her love for Stephen kept him together, her love of him helped the world to know him the way it does. Despite knowing of his disease she chose to marry him. She could've easily let him go but she stayed, she cared for him, had babies with him, made sense of his theories. To be loved like Stephen Hawking was loved is a blessing. This piece will always remind of that love.

I played this music when I was in a bus passing over the river Yamuna at night (which is quite big) and it was a clear sky so the stars were visible in the heavens and in the river along with the city lights. That moment truly felt magical and this song made it more special. I felt insignificant and vulnerable but knew there was ethereal beauty in being truly insignificant and vulnerable too...it compresses your time on this earth into this beautiful montage of moments and when that moment comes you'll know that you've found something that touched your very soul!

I listen to this piece all the time, but hearing it after his passing is a new experience. Last night I watched my friend, who studies physics at Cornell, stop in his tracks and mourn Stephen Hawking's death as if he were a family member. The true extent of Hawking's influence on the world reaches beyond geniuses and intellectuals. A mind and story like his has impacted everyone who is blessed to know of his existence. While I am sad that he is gone, I can only feel hope for the great work this man has catalyzed and inspired and will continue to do so despite his passing. Rest in Peace!

Hello! How are you all? If anyone needs someone to listen, someone to talk to, or a friend. I am here to talk, listen, and be a friend. I hope you all are safe and well. Know that you are amazing and have rights as a human. I am very sorry for anything that seems bad that may have happened in your life. I want you to know that you are incredible and are capable of wonders. What matters is your inside, not your exterior. Love yourself and cherish yourself. Words cannot explain how astonishing you are. You deserve care, love, and happiness, don't let anything make you feel otherwise. Please have appropriate action for anything that you know is wrong. Anything that seems bad or wrong in your life right now will get better. Please don't do what is wrong, fighting back and harming others will not solve the problem. Please understand that and do the good thing. It will one day come back to you. The people in the world are so much more than what we know about them, not everyone opens up about the beautiful things and acts they have witnessed, not all those amazing doings are acknowledged. Please understand that and know that. If you feel like no one cares about you, know that I care about you. Keep your head up high and never give up. Together, we can be a better community. Stay safe, healthy, happy, kind, understanding, positive and strong!

The beginning of true wisdom is in the realisation that there no fight between good and evil only a conflict between understanding and misunderstanding (or that which we have not yet learned) and unintended consequences. There is, arguably, no fight between science and religion as the truth is ultimately potentially found through both, only a conflict with the misunderstandings of our past and a desire to take the next step - hopefully in the service of more than ourselves. ... Love the song!
@KokaneKhan9 жыл бұрын
What you've written is as profound as the song itself.
@williambryk9 жыл бұрын
Kris K, I understand that you may be searching for some sort of statement that sums up all the confusingness that comprises human life and that is why you chose to write that comment, but your sincere yearning for that statement should not cause your critical thinking abilities in your head to shut down. Though you and many others may want what you said to be correct because it sounds nice or simplifies or appears beautiful or whatever you want to call it, we should evaluate whether what you are saying holds up to speculation. For example, is there really "no fight between science and religion." Maybe if you view religion as a way of living-- more like cultural traditions-- then yes of course it doesn't conflict with science, in the same way that Thanksgiving does not. But for the majority of religious people on this planet, religion is not just a collection of traditions or a source of identity, it is also their explanation for where the universe came from and what the so called "purpose" of it all is. And this my friend does seriously conflict with science. Any statement about physical reality will conflict with science if it is not understood through evidence, as science abides to. If you say that God created the universe 6 thousand years ago that seriously conflicts with science. If you say that evolution did not occur and the biblical story is more accurate, that seriously conflicts with science. If you say that prayer works well to cure diseases (aside from psychological benefits), that seriously conflicts with science. And even if you accept what science shows and say, for example, "evolution occurred, but it was guided by God." Of course, science has no way to disprove that, but that way of thinking -- believing without evidence-- completely conflicts with the scientific way of thinking-- believing based on sufficient evidence. You say that "truth is potentially found through both." Are you sure about that? Is there reason to believe that religion has led us to truths? If so, what are your reasons? Are these truths about how to live and be happy and feel fulfilled with one's life or truths about how reality works? Those are two very different types of truths. I would argue that using truth in the former sense is confusing the word with its actual meaning-- which deals more with the latter sense. So maybe our disagreement boils down to a disagreement about semantics regarding the word 'truth' which is not uncommon in debates. I know that body-shakingly wonderful songs like these can cause us to conjure up inspiring rhetoric which can certainly be persuasive, but that is why we should be even more careful when dealing with these grand statements-- especially if our goal is, as you say, finding truth.
@Mithril_Antimarr9 жыл бұрын
No one, certainly not I, was indicating that the realisation of profound truths was any more than a potential on either path. Religion has a structure which can be limiting in terms of searching for greater understanding (as can academia albeit often in different ways), however both can inspire the search for deeper understanding outside generally accepted orthodoxies. Much as we are taught scientific theories in our infancy and great scholars compete to take the next step in oftentimes purely theoretical understanding, there will always be spiritual students who fail to be satisfied by accepted orthodox understandings and demand a direct spiritual experience rather than blind obedience... do we give religion no credit for the role in creating the mystic determined to know and teach inspiring insights beyond the understandings of their predecessors? While the scientist and the mystic (or sage) are profoundly different, a search for truth beyond the misunderstandings of the past unites them. Religion's misunderstandings and bad or incomplete theories can delay the progress of a society, however all realisations, however flawed, can inspire others to correct, overcome and surpass humanity's past limitations. Can we just say what we were mistaken about in the past needs to be overcome rather than condemn in their entirety traditions that may continue to inspire others to search for truth in their own way, far into the future? My earlier comment was intended as a reflection on the illustrious Professor Hawking's quote by the poster of this video. I am sorry if my words troubled you (and sorry if the above troubles you further... each to their own).
@williambryk9 жыл бұрын
Its all good-I wasnt troubled i just was commenting on your claim that religion and science dont conflict. It is certainly correct to say that religion of all sorts has inspired scientists to discover more and learn about the universe which they believed god fashioned with his own hands. But to say that religion inspires us to find truth is very different from saying that religion is a means of reaching truth. Hanz zimmers interstellar music makes me crave with all my heart to know the answers, but I would not say that Hanz zimmers imterstellar music is a means of finding truths, meaning a system of thought that gets us closer to understanding reality through its methods. Religion and science share that sense of wonder as a source no doubt, but that doesnt mean they are both valid means of discovering truth about reality.

I’ve honestly never truly fallen in love with an instrumental piece before ; I usually harbor the lyrics in music as much as I adore them. But this, this is different. It is as if its lyrics are woven into the melody itself. You can hear the words. You can sense what it is talking about, as if it is one step above speech, and if it actually had lyrics, it would somehow stain its unbelievable and raw beauty. Simply extraordinary!

It’s kinda funny how there’s people who try to find excuses towards not going for their dreams because they think it’s not normal or what others do. Stephen Hawking was a living example that no matter what gets in your way you can achieve whatever your heart desires, especially if they’re your own dreams. There is something so cosmic about this piece of music. It really lends itself to the idea of losing oneself to the vastness of the universe. I think its ironic that this song is about creatures "arriving" when I feel it signifies the beginning of a grand departure into the unknown. I think that's why it was chosen to be in The Theory of Everything.

Every chord, beat, flutter and tremble can stop time in its tracks and transport us into the world beyond worlds, it drowns out sorrow and anger and takes us back to the times in our lives when we gave something and restored the light in the lives of many. As a once great man once said "However bad life may seem, while there is life there is hope" because without hope we cannot restore the faith in who we are as humans. Music stops time in its tracks and makes us feel, because without music there is no will. The will to fight against sorrow and anger, through poverty and war. Without our will to fight for our world and the people in it, we are nothing. Music makes us something, it makes us human! And the great human that left his legacy behind for us to follow, will be remembered in this beautiful song that makes us something!
