Where oh where can I find a modern example of such a phenomenon? Think, think, think! It does ring familiar somehow.

I'm surprised, and amused, by some reactions, people insulted by the narrator. I find this video informative, well written, and estheticly pleasing to the eyes and ears. 🤔🤯

Everyone of us is effected at home, among the community, work place, more in places where we pray. I think it could be minimized by training and Patience

I came here to watch the video on Bonhoeffer. Your attempt at manipulation to watch the whole video under threat of remaining stupid if I click off REALLY made me want to close it and go find a different one. There are many. I'm going to try to resist the temptation for a while.

Actually, "Dietrich Bonhoeffer" is the subtitle. The title is "Theory of Stupidity". So, your bad.

Very Informative. Many times a group policy or mob psyche can go wrong & public may take it for granted. As a result, many suffer or social development or R&D may not happen at proper pace

Right! I find the whole flicker thing STUPID. What does the author want to achieve with this? Bring us back to the beginning to the time of Bonhoeffer?

One of the strangest paradoxes was that it the devilish powers of the world knew that killing Christ would have resulted in the Hebrew dept being paid, it seems as though the devil would not have killed Christ. 1 Corinthians 2:8 says, "If they had known, they would never have killed Jesus". All of us have a spiritual debt we cannot pay, but the Bible tells us God has paid our debt! He canceled the payment due for our sins and instead accepted the payment His Son Jesus provided when He died on the cross (Colossians 2:14). I Corinthians 2 records but we speak God’s wisdom in a mystery, the hidden wisdom which God predestined before the ages to our glory; the wisdom which none of the rulers of this age has understood; for if they had understood it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory; I have often wondered why Jesus said in Mark 9:9-10, “As they were coming down the mountain, Jesus gave them orders not to tell anyone what they had seen until the Son of Man had risen from the dead.” Colossians 1:24 says: Now I rejoice in my sufferings for your sake, and in my flesh I am filling up what is lacking in Christ's afflictions for the sake of his body, that is, the church … So Paul suffers, and in his suffering, he says that he fills up what is lacking in Christ's afflictions. When we are moved by the Spirit, we manifest love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. These are the gifts we offer to the adversary. Against such things there is no law. If you build it they will come... they will come back to the Garden of Eden. The Virgin Mary's Immaculate Heart Will Triumph.❤

@@KobyFCooking Selective Intellectualism Definition: Selective intellectualism occurs when someone applies critical thinking, logic, and reasoning inconsistently, primarily to support their preexisting beliefs or to challenge ideas they oppose. They ignore or dismiss intellectual rigor when it might undermine their position. Key Characteristics: Cherry-Picking Evidence: Accepting facts or data that align with their views while dismissing or ignoring contradictory evidence. Example: A person rigorously debates scientific studies that contradict their ideology but unquestioningly accepts pseudoscience that supports it. Double Standards in Skepticism: Exercising extreme skepticism toward opposing ideas but applying little to no scrutiny to their own beliefs. Confirmation Bias: Seeking out information or arguments that reinforce existing beliefs, often while ignoring disconfirming evidence. Performative Intellect: Engaging in intellectual discourse not to seek truth but to showcase superiority or win arguments. Selective Relationalism Definition: Selective relationalism refers to a pattern where people engage meaningfully in relationships or empathize with others only when it benefits them personally, socially, or emotionally. It reflects an inconsistent approach to relationships and a utilitarian view of interpersonal connections. Key Characteristics: Transactional Relationships: Only investing in relationships that offer tangible benefits (e.g., status, resources, validation). Selective Empathy: Showing empathy or concern only for individuals or groups who align with their identity, values, or beliefs, while dismissing or dehumanizing others. Example: Advocating for justice within one’s own community but ignoring or opposing the struggles of others. Instrumentalizing Connection: Building connections for strategic reasons, such as influence or advantage, rather than genuine care or interest. Convenient Morality: Upholding relational values like honesty, loyalty, or kindness selectively, depending on the context and potential personal gain. Broader Implications For Individuals: Cognitive Dissonance: Selective intellectualism and relationalism often lead to internal conflict, as inconsistencies between one’s beliefs and actions become harder to reconcile over time. Stunted Growth: By avoiding intellectual and relational challenges, individuals miss opportunities for personal development, self-awareness, and the broadening of their perspectives. For Society: Polarization: These selective behaviors contribute to societal divisions, as people engage with ideas and relationships in echo chambers that reinforce biases. Erosion of Trust: Selective relationalism fosters distrust, as people sense the insincerity in transactional or conditional connections. Stifling Progress: When intellectual engagement is conditional, meaningful dialogue, problem-solving, and innovation suffer. Addressing the Issue Promote Intellectual Consistency: Encourage people to apply the same standards of critical thinking to all ideas, including their own beliefs. Example: Challenge individuals to actively seek out and engage with counterarguments. Foster Universal Empathy: Cultivate a mindset where care and concern for others aren’t limited by personal alignment but are extended universally. Example: Teaching the value of diverse perspectives in education and community settings. Encourage Reflexivity: Help individuals reflect on their motivations for engaging in intellectual or relational activities. Are they seeking truth or validation? Are they connecting for genuine care or personal gain? Model Integrity: Leaders, educators, and public figures can demonstrate intellectual honesty and unconditional relational care, setting examples for others to follow. 🙃
