The Theory of the Artworld

language (oratory, writing, literature) and physical (painting, sculpture, crafts, architecture, gardens) are ways we manipulate and craft reality. just as 'philosophy', 'art' has several forms and meanings. at their utmost maybe they share the same end; to challenge our understanding of meaning and reality. now obviously in a capitalist world art becomes a commodity and a vogue/fashion, so there are happenings in an 'artworld' and a marketplace. i think what's being discussed is the artworld has its own culture and set of assumptions, it's own language, or a wittgenstenian meaning that can only be understood in a specific way by those inside that community and epistemology. humans are always struggling between dogmatism and plurality in our society and our short lives. ty, have a good one !

I wonder what the old Greeks would say if they could see that their theories led to a work of art made of a toilet. I know this is a very crude way of putting it but I’m getting straight to the point.
