I saw this as a child. The Kordas were considered the rivals of Disney. Sabu was a little boy when he was recruited for the lead in "Elephant Boy" which we saw on our brand new tv set in 1950. Black and white. He was in the first Jungle Book. He was an actual mahout in training and he was a very fast learner of English. This movie is sooo much better than Disney's Aladdin and when you think of the special effects in 1940 it is quite amazing.

I haven’t seen Disney’s ‘Aladdin’ in several decades, but even so - I’m surprised at how much from ‘The Thief of Baghdad’ was used in it. …The Emperor/Kings’ appearance, a sidekick/thief named Aboo/Apoo(?), etc. I enjoyed this a lot, Thank-You for uploading it!

This is a movie from my childhood! I absolutely LOVE THIS MOVIE I never ever get tired of it! 💕🥳 My dad, who passed away when I was 12, brought this movie home one day when I was maybe like 8? Although the credits are in German, the movie is in English. You kids are in for a treat. This is a classic of fantasy, adventure, and romance. Filmmaking was way better back than. Trust me.
