Absolutely marvelous that these young teenagers could perform so brilliantly. Kudos to the teacher/conductor. Thanks for posting.

I've listened to the Thieving Magpie an infinite number of times and this rendition probably because it was live provided the most versatile, fulfilling performance yet.

beautiful performance. Many other versions of this are rushed, but the tempo in this was so well- controlled. Bravo!

The tempo was good for a youth orchestra. These young musicians were wonderful, and the conductor was animated and entertaining as well.
@wolfgangscorpio41252 жыл бұрын
Actually, I disagree. I find it too slow. This is ITALIAN. You skip and hop with an Italian temperament. You don't measuredly march like a German.
@joeherald73194 жыл бұрын
I could watch this every day. Such a beautiful piece of music and these sincere young people so proudly and perfectly playing their parts and this conductor who is an elegant example of someone totally enjoying what they are doing in life.
@joeherald731910 жыл бұрын
Hard to imagine how much good life value was brought to these kids by this. This conductor just seems to be joyous and I know she's passed that on to them. I'll bet they are sad when they have to leave this Orchestra. I really don't know anything about her other than what I can see here, which is, a person giving her all and loving every second of it.

Having sung in the Herts Youth Choir and accompanied by the Youth Orchestra…back in 1975…when I was 15…I can tell you experiences like this stay with you for the rest of your life (I’m 62 now) They are completely priceless. And this is a great performance of a brilliant bit of music.

We fillied around for a while with other travelers of the night playing "hogs of the road." Then we headed west, what we were after now was the old surprise visit. That was a real kick and good for laughs and lashings of the old ultra-violence...

When the phone rang I was in the kitchen, boiling a potful of spaghetti and whistling along with an FM broadcast of the overture to Rossini’s The Thieving Magpie, which has to be the perfect music for cooking pasta.

Could anyone love what they're doing more than this woman ? I am mostly unknowing about classical music. Had it not been for "A Clockwork Orange" (1971) I would not know about this work which is now a cherished favorite of mine. The movie was, well...disturbing but, the soundtrack is spot-on genius.

10+ years on. I hope the students look back at this with pride. I wonder how many went on to play with other orchestras or solo? Not that it is that important but I hope they al kept their skills up as they were evidently the cream of the crop and music warms the soul on any cold night. Very well done indeed.

As we walked along the flatblock marina, I was calm on the outside, but thinking all the time. So now it was to be Georgie the general, saying what we should do and what not to do, and Dim as his mindless greeding bulldog. But suddenly I viddied that thinking was for the gloopy ones and that the oomny ones use, like, inspiration and what Bog sends. For now it was lovely music that came to my aid. There was a window open with the stereo on and I viddied right at once what to do

They are playing so slow! And it's making the perfomance sound lovely. With the slow tempo it sound like a march for the King walking in the Throne Room. Excellent!
