These are very interesting videos, thank you for putting them together. I actually liked that the noose appeared onscreen with no explanation, I thought it was powerful just being there unmentioned, I never thought it could be because of a cut scene.

The DVD version that I have, has some of the deleted scenes in the extras on the disc but some of them in these videos aren’t.

A good question, it may be answered in the next video episode. For the audience, the task of the film is to figured out who is the victim of assimilation and in what order. In the original script, the one who lets the dogs out is most likely the same one who stabs Bennings in the neck in an earlier version of the Bennings' death scene...although there are three of options for the Thing at this point in the plot.
