very nice, but I miss two essentials of Pink Floyd: the sounds of Richard Wright and distinctive vocals of Roger Waters. All AI Music of Pink Floyd is something like the sequel of "Division Bell", a very David Gilmore marked album

I'm listening to it again, and not just out of curiosity. It sounds like Pink Floyd after Waters, (or a good Gilmour solo album). I'd love to listen to an AI album reflecting Syd's Floyds. Great job!

Congratulations! Some musical themes are mastered very well. How would you conditionally divide your work, the work of AI... on the foundation of Pink Floyd?
@ArtAndIntel16 күн бұрын
Thank you! And good question, let me try to explain my way of working. All the music, voices, instruments and sometimes even some sound effects are 100% created by udio.com. The lyrics are for 80% A.I too (ChatGPT) ... though I am planning to come with a fully human-made songtext in an upcoming song - unfortunately I am not as much of a songwriter as Richard or Roger, so bear with me. Setting up a prompt to match David's voice (or alike) is done by setting the right tags: think of genre, tone, emotion, atmosphere, instruments, and many more, and it needs a lot of patience. At this point I narrowed down the number of voices that it will choose with the genre (sometimes it's Gilmour, another time it can be Peter Gabriel or Phil Collins too). I have the feeling Water's voice has not been included in the A.I. database (please tell me if you can prove otherwise!). At first it takes a dozen of tries to find the best fragment (33 seconds) to start with and extend to my liking. At the end I find some cool images via the Midjourney A.I. imaging (in the style of artist Storm Thorgerson, who designed many of PF's album covers), and I find some catchy sound effects too and attach them in a video editor. I think the largest effort is to find the perfect fragments. This is just "rinse and repeat", and sometimes takes around 100 to 200 of my credits per song. I have a lot of (almost completed) songs that I didn't publish, because they sounded "just not right enough". I hope this answered your question.

@@ArtAndIntel Thank you for your detailed answer. He was very interesting to me, because I myself DJed professionally in the 90s, and my son is an artist.. Did you answer my question? Yes and no. I was interested in: Your subjective, but objective).. evaluative feeling of your creativity (method, + musical taste, + selection, intuition, mood.. etc.) in the final product as a % in relation to the musical and textual foundation of Pink Floyd. However, the description of your method gives me some idea. Based on your description, I think it’s about 30%. And, in your opinion, is it subjective-objective? I also don’t know your motivation for what you are doing on this topic... however, it would also be interesting to understand... because... this is important.. Thank you, I will be grateful for the answers..

Apologies for the delayed answer, I find your question difficult but very interesting. You ask me to pick and extract my brain, and tell you how my mind works from the moment I think of a song, to the moment I publish it.. right? I will try to do that.

For my first songs (Third Kind album, but also non-PF), I chose some world related topics, and also some common inner struggles that can be in anybody's mind. So, related to world-topics I thought of keywords like war, political corruption, the information overload by internet and social media, even AI itself. But also inner struggles and disruptions of the mind, in topics like ADHD, depression, melancholia, anxiety, spinal paralysis (spoiler alert!), which can be good examples of topics related to the songs of PF too.

When thinking of body, mind and heart, on the first 2 AI is already on the fast lane... but there's still feelings/emotions... will AI composed music eventually be able to make us cry, or feel joyful?

Well done. I mean on technical grounds, because as far as music is concerned, it's as lame as can be, it's just a trivial rendition of what has made Pink Floyd a boring band ever since it ceased experimenting and unveiling new paths in music.

There is a ton of these, how else can i put it..?...Really shitty attempts by AI to write a 'new song' for a former band of lasting fame and legacy.. Such 'songs' lack all authenticity.. Notice how all of these lousy AI attempts to sound like certain artists are alway's drowned in effects, trying to obscure the inconsistency in not being able to match the real thing... This perverting of great artists by an inanimate series of calculations.. There's no heart in this and no Pink Floyd and that is extremely obvious.. This is horrible trash
