Les oiseaux se cachent pour mourir (The Thorn Birds) est une mini-série américaine en quatre épisodes de 120 minutes, réalisée par Daryl Duke d'après le roman best-seller de Colleen McCullough et diffusée du 27 mars au 30 mars 1983 sur le réseau ABC.
HISTOIRE:
Cette série retrace l'histoire du père Ralph de Bricassart, de son arrivée en Australie jusqu'à sa nomination en tant que cardinal au Vatican, tiraillé entre ses choix religieux et ses choix d'homme, et de la famille Cleary et de leur fille Meggie, depuis leur élevage de moutons en Nouvelle-Zélande à leur installation en Australie.

Wafaa Sh - I couldn't put the book down- in 1979 I read it through the night and decided to take a sickie from work that day to finish it - currently got the DVD in my collection- now 40 years since I first read the book and still have it 👍🏿😍

Между актерами главной пары видна влюблённость и видимо была у них любовь это видно, так сыграть не возможно если нет чувств к партнёру так многие актеры говорят в интервью, это парочка идеально друг другу подходила они просто ураган бывает же что так влюбляются люди, книга грустная, и сюжет не очень нельзя влюбляться в человека посветившему себя Богу, и не понравилось как главная героиня говорит про Бога

I can remember watching this as a twenty year old and when I saw the grown Meggie, she actually took my breath away. An exquisitely beautiful, elegant woman. I can also remember wanting to reach into the television and shake Ralph by the dog collar!! Even the young Meggie (Sydney Peggy) was a beautil little girl, hardly surprising that she turned into a stunningly beautiful woman too. Back in time when life was so much easier and uncomplicated, the 80's was a great era.

Both the novel and the mini-series are excellent. The casting was terrific in the way they matched some interpretations of the characters in the novel. It can be very emotional at times, and covers the entire spectrum of emotions.
