Try some blue Loctite on the pommel nut if you want it to stay put until deliberately removed. It works on firearms screws, so I would think that it should work on a sword. Don't use the red Loctite, you'll need a blowtorch to ever get it back apart again.

A few thoughts on "End him rightly" I had recently: I have to wonder if the the page that "End him rightly" came from was talking about what to do if the pommel of your sword comes off in combat and not detaching it yourself. I know that your pommel should never come off on a good sword, but not every sword was necessarily a good one with proper construction, plus sh!t happens in combat. Tossing the pommel at an opponent unexpectedly could throw them off balance or out of guard as they dodge it and allow you to take a good cut at them, thus "Ending them rightly." before your sword falls apart anymore and leaves you unarmed.
@Helxas6 жыл бұрын
I'd still chalk it up to a joke. The manual was one of spear combat that had a section on swordplay. But, more importantly, it specifically describes the action of taking the pommel off of the sword by unscrewing it, not when the thing comes off by itself. And, besides, it'd be common sense to throw the pommel if it did happen to come off, which I can attest is very improbable in combat. You can still use the sword even if the pommel, handle, and guard come off, too: The blade piece has a sort of metal "tail", called a tang, upon which all the other components are fitted onto.
@LarryGarfieldCrell6 жыл бұрын
Skall had a follow-up last year in which he notes that it's all a mistranslation. The original German is apparently "quickly", not "rightly". As in, distract him by throwing the pommel at him, slice his head off while he's wondering WTF you just did, and be done with it. Video here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/jHS1dmONoJl5aNE

I have one Falchion, very good sword. Its the enchanted one so Im using it with my full mage(Int 50, Att 50, Stre 12, Dex 13) and it deals nice damage. People: Elemental Infusions works best if you're doing pure spell caster. If you increase Str and Dex, obviously the will work better at melee damage, thats its intention, spellcaster's intention is no being pure melee.

(cheap and in various sizes on amazon) I would suggest getting the "Blue" kind as it is not as permanent and does not require heat to undo the bonding of the threads like the "Red" type does. Cheers! I wonder how a blade like this mated to a complex swept hilt would handle. It should be like a sidesword but even better at chopping. I can't see the downside and if there truly are no downsides then surely such a sword must have been made at some point, but I've never seen anything of the sort.
