In 2021 I embarked on an adventure to the south coast of England, one of my destinations was the Medieval town of Christchurch which is home to three historically important sites.

Good info and filming, Alex. I had the good fortune to live in Christchurch until the late 90s. Next time, have a look at Place Mill (by the quay) which is thought to be a Saxon foundation. Also, a low bank in Druitt Gardens (behind the High Street) may represent the line of Athelstan’s burghal defences. I watched this subsequent to seeing your video on ‘hidden Roman sites’ (also excellent.) You’ve got one more subscriber.

Yes unfortunately I was only in Christchurch for a few hours in the evening so I had to rush around the three main sites (luckily so close together!) Then had a quick dinner in one of the high Street restaurants then went back home haha. I'd certainly like to go back and take a look at the earthworks. And thank you, much appreciated:)

Yeah it certainly has church-like elements to it but nope, it's a true Norman dwelling :)
