@@Hainbach I own 2 qrates records and they're alright, but they do lack something. At least on the ones that I have, they sound very digital, and there are certain aspects like the plain sleeve and side labels that make them feel a bit cheaper than most of my other records. If there's any possibility of you doing a tape run, I would absolutely love to have one, but if that is off the table than I would still buy a release on qrates. Love from Scotland

Well I don’t dismiss Ross as a wonderful person, tv-host and craftsman. His artistry was in that of leading a successful tv-show. His paintings were just the same script running over and over. There is nothing about his method, process or end result I’d call artistic or masterful. Haibach is creative, innovative, constantly developing his process and has a large variety of ideas and concepts. What they do have in common is that they’re great hosts!
@scramblesthedeathdealer
@scramblesthedeathdealer 4 жыл бұрын
@@AM-ui9mc He was a top notch host. To me at least, he made some beautiful paintings. They captured common, everyday landscapes and scenes, and he was masterful at breaking things down into simple to follow instructions for any skill level. I'm still amazed he was able to consistently produce art this quickly, yet uniquely. I love his paintings, they give me a sense of peace and comfort, and I always find them to be visually appealing. I know he didn't invent the technique that he is famous for, but just thinking of his shows makes me want to go pick up some oil paints and a bottle of toluene (as a paint thinner/recreational activity), especially since I just found a brand new set of paint brushes on my counter.

@Hainbach 4 жыл бұрын
I learned that from Tobias Levin, German producer who in turn learned it from the guy who mixed all the bigger indie Rockbands at the time. Stoically watching the meter, adhering to the rule, the eq/comp/fx done really fast. Can put in more mixing tips in this series.

@@Hainbach More mixing tips would be a godsend. My hearing has issues with fatigue when doing long mixes, so any tricks with presetting and rules applied as a template, would help me a lot. I just did a fast -6db test on one of the projects I'd like to finish, and I can already feel a big change - not just in the audio, but mentally also being able to pick and choose elements with greater ease.

I will always remember Hans Zimmer's tip. If you ever encounter a rule, go break it. The mix sounds very deep and tasteful but I feel the dynamics are lost a bit. Wow, that drums sounds awesome especially the cymbals. The hat is too dry compared to the rest of the instruments, like it's ripped apart in space where the individual drum elements are miles apart. It's small and huge at the same time. But what the hell do I know :). Excellent track.
