Chris VB Yes Cris that is correct. When Constantine the great transferred the center of the Roman empire from Rome to Constantinople. Later on the western part fell in 546 BC and got a new pool/Byzantine Empire fell at 1453 BC. But the real damage was done due to the black and noaility/ Venetians Fourth Crusade which actually the crusades were not against Islam but against the orthodox at any other Christians were which were outside the realm in control of rule of Rome! The Roman Emperors were the successors thus the Habsburgs who held that title last thus Vienna/Austria is the last Rome; there the insignia of the Holy Roman Empire are kept and the Holy Lance is stored.

gunther the Holy Roman Empire wasn't the second or the third rome. The second rome was Byzantium, they were actually called the eastern roman empire And they called them selves romans, And the third Rome is Russia Because they accepted te Orthodoxe church And many things from the Byzantine culture. And many people from constantinople fled to Moscow after Constantantinople has fallen 1453. The Holy Roman Empire are actually barbarians Because they were germans from germania. And the germans invaded rome many times And caused many problems to the Romans.

Denis _Serbia good post - but the Germans did not invade the Romans until the 100s AD. Before this it was Romans invading Germanic tribes who in time revolted and then began to attack back. So at first the Romans were the Romans with beginning in 115 BC or so many Germanic slaves. These slaves also became Romans, or Germans attacking their fellow Germans. IE, in the Gladiator film he was probably an ex-Germanic tribe new Roman soldier

The 3 Romes - The first was the cradle of our civilization and the founding of Christianity , the second was Byzanthium and the ascendancy of Christianity as the basic law - the third is Moscow's version of Anti-Christ masquerading as the Russian Orthodox Church.
