You're a treat, a young person that appreciates and understands classic comedy. They have one film I can't remember the name of but they go duck hunting and Larry shoots Moe in the butt,it's hilarious 😂 it has to do with duck hunting I wished I could remember the title.

Yes, the CLOCK fell into the bowl but the recipe called for "Thyme", not "time".

@@Rock2HAL Dudley Dickerson's footage here was so good it was reused in 3 more stooges films over the next twenty years! That's how brilliant Dudley was. Dudley's footage was reused just as much as the pie fight footage from "Half-Wits Holiday" (1947) so he's tied with the stooges themselves as the most popular used footage in the stooges filmography. Dudley Dickerson was so hilarious in "Hold That Lion!" (1947) and he's absolutely hysterical in all of the Columbia comedy shorts he was featured in - he's especially funny in a Del Lord (who directed "A Plumbing We Will Go") short entitled, "Ready, Willing But Unable" from 1941. Check it out. How cool would it have been to see Dudley replace Shemp as the third stooge in 1956? He would have been brilliant.

This Three Stooges short was Curly Howard's personal favorite. Sam Raimi, a horror director noted for his fondness for The Three Stooges, said the lightbulb filling up with water was the inspiration for the scene in The Evil Dead (1981) in which the light bulb filled up with blood. According to Moe Howard's 1977 autobiography, Moe had noticed director Del Lord playing with a strand of his hair when he was crouched below the camera lens. The shadow of the hair clump was filmed along with the short and at the cost of several thousand dollars, some sequences had to be re-shot. The Three Stooges are one of the main inspirations of The Marvelous M Show (2011). If you look closely at Bess Flowers Gown/ Evening Dress you will notice that she is wearing the same gown in Termites of 1938. It is the exact gown. The wardrobe department probably used it again thinking that a year later, no one would notice.

@@WhiteBladeZero Yes, the 1949 Shemp remake "Vagabond Loafers" and Dudley has an expanded part as the Chef (they reused all his footage from "A Plumbing We Will Go") where he enters the parlor and exclaims “Sorry folks, dinners been postponed because of rain” and also when he encounters the crooks trying to leave and he says, "You folks going someplace?" and Christine McIntyre says, "Just looking for a drink of water" and Dudley replies ,"Turn on anything, you'll get it". Great stuff. Dudley rules!

I don't know if the film was edited or if I have it mixed up with another Stooge movie but I remember watching this short on TV many years ago and as I recall, after the cook gets water coming out of the stove he went into the room with the guests and announced "Dinner is called off on account of rain." That was my favorite line in the film and I was waiting for it but I guess for some reason it was edited out. If I have the line mixed up with another Stooge movie please tell me the title of the film so I can look for it.
