Vernon Dent was fixture on Mack Sennett comedy shorts but he best-known as a Stooge-regular he like part of the Stooges Family along with Bud Jamerson,Emil Sitka,Kenneth MacDonald[who plays the villain] and the lovely Christine McIntyre.

The first time I ever saw the routine we watch with Curly around 28:27-29:40 was the episode 'Listen, Judge' with Shemp. As a kid, I didn't get the "Separate 2 eggs." part, but, my dad found it hilarious--mostly because I was like "The cook book said to separate 2 eggs & that's exactly what Shemp did." & my dad was like "That's not the type of separating the cook book called for, exactly...".

Vernon Dent's story is so sad. By the mid-50s, he had gone blind from diabetes. A fact that had been hidden until Shemp's death. Dent continued to act for a few more shorts, but was relegated to sitting roles.

I thought I heard Rich Koz say something about the line that Curly says around 27:23-27:28 on an episode of 'Stooge-A-Palooza' when I was in middle school. If I remember what he said, correctly, it was something that Moe heard in a play & he just put it into the script. In fairness, I was in my 6th grade year of middle school when I first heard this stat in late-2001, so, it's been a long time...

When Joe Besse joined the Stooges, they were already pretty old, like in their late 50s and early 60s. They were kinda running out of steam, and the studio didn’t have much money left for cool effects, backgrounds, or editing. So, in a bunch of the later videos, they just recycled scenes from older ones with Curly in them
