Documented my gear, was stolen out of an inside heated storage, with no insurance during a brief move. Their so called security cameras and walk throughs were just for the sales pitch. A Peavey Bandit was returned by cops a few years later too broken to use, my favourite valuable guitars never showed up again. Thieves were local organized gang, not some crazed gear enthusiast.

I urge everyone to microchip your guitars. It’s like the size of a piece of rice and you can hide it the screw channel of under a strap button. Then all your info is recorded on it just like with a pet. The cops can sweep ‘‘em and it proves you own the guitar even if it made it all the way across the country

Unfortunately, recovery will depend on people other than the police. Having lost over 10K in several robberies, the police have no interest in the work required to find the thieves. A friend was robbed by people across the street, they found his stuff in the neighbor's house, the cops knew the thieves involved, but they still refused to charge them. They did let my friend take back the stuff he found, but the crooks still walked free.

Trogly, those Moog guitars are unlike anything you've ever played, due to some ingenious electronics. The whole guitar *vibrates* as if you're standing in front of a Marshall stack with the volume cranked up to 11; even if your amp volume is at 0. It. Is. WILD. And that's just 1 of many features they have. If you're ever looking for a very unique guitar to review, and can find one for a price your comfortable with, those Moog guitars would make for an *awesome* demo.
@aliensporebomb2 жыл бұрын
The Moog Guitar electronics were made by Moog Music in Asheville NC but the actual guitar part of it was made by Zion Guitar Technology of Raleigh, North Carolina. They were expensive and hard to find because the electronics literally filled almost the entire back of the instrument - when you see the back of the instrument your eyes will pop out. The biggest electronics cavity I've ever seen.

I had a bunch of guitars stolen in Massachusetts back in 2011. Would really like to get my Ibanez Roadstar II in sea foam green and my Alvarez PD100s back. Don’t have the serial numbers but I did mark them in ways I could identify blind. If anyone in New England (cape cod in particular) has one that might fit the bill I’ll pay market value, probably more, to get them back.

@UC6PJhLKnvaMlMT9cr2AvnyA My brother overdosed and passed away in 2019. Though it was never anything nearly as valuable or sentimental as a guitar, I know there were some things he had taken from me to sell for drugs when his addiction reached it's highest severity. It just really shows how devastating addiction to opiates can be, because he really was an incredible person; for years he devoted so much time and energy to studying law, and using legal loopholes to help homeless families with children get free homes, hooking up free water and power, and then helping them get on a path where they could finally earn their own money to pay for good lives for their kids. He did this 100% for free, accepting nothing in return. He was a damn saint. And yet, when his addiction was at it's worst point, there he was, stealing old Star Wars toys and art from his little brother so he he could get heroin. It was heartbreaking. Sorry for the long comment; I just know first hand what it's like to see someone close to you steal from you to fund a drug addiction. It's a truly horrible thing to experience. I'm sorry you went through that; guitars are often replaceable, but you can't unlearn what it feels like to have one stolen from you by someone you trusted. That is forever. Wherever your ex-roommate is, I just hope he's alive and reaches out to you to apologize and make things right someday.

It's the Soros backed DAs in these liberal ran cities that don't prosecute these criminals. Sure they will be arrested but then they are immediately let out. It's why San Francisco recalled their DA earlier this year because crime and theft had gotten so bad people were fed up. In Florida gov. DeSantis Suspended a Soros backed DA who wouldn't enforce Florida law and admitted on a signed letter that he wouldn't either. LA needs a major overhaul of their local government with new leaders who are willing to stand up against crime and actively prosecute criminals but that requires voting for the opposite party they have been voting for a long time now and I don't forsee it happening anytime soon. Security for things like this needs to be ironclad. As a teenager someone tried to break into the local guitar shop by driving a pickup truck through the window. They did not realize the building was tough as nails old construction, so the truck did not survive and had to be left behind. Unfortunately the plate glass window did break, and stuff did go missing (but nothing expensive), but they could not gain access into the store as the access panel to put things on display could only open from the inside (good thing because all their Gibsons were kept right next to that panel.)

In the words of Colin Hay from Men at Work, "who can it be now?" That final LP practically sings Tommy Shaw to me. Whenever I see the tobacco burst, I think of the guitars he played between 1977 and 1980, when Styx was recording *The Grand Illusion, Pieces of Eight* and *Cornerstone.*
