I didn't know these things existed. With all the ttrpg things I'm subbed to this wasn't recommended until 2 days ago. Instasubbed but I don't know how to find more stories. The only two I've ever found were evanquest and that one famous one that lots of dnders get frustrated over, Roll20, I think? What do I search to have more?

How new were the players and DM at this point? Given that they were a little unsure of how passive perception worked and I think one said that he had advantage on perception which would have given him a plus five to his passive perception

Everyone at the table has varied levels of experience. For example, Russ had played to level 20 in adventurer’s league, Shane had played mostly 1st tier one shots and some shots, and Bridget was basically brand new to tabletop gaming. We’ve also found it’s good to talk rules out in case one of us, or one of our listeners, doesn’t know. So we try to be comprehensive.

@@ventureforthdnd Absolutely! Always talk rules out amongst the group. In a pinch, GM should make a snap decision and look up the actual rule later, then determine if the group likes the original ruling or the actual rule. Too many rules to remember, so it helps for everyone to discuss.

I am new to D&D but am loving this series. Are most D&D campaigns this much talking between players and the NPCs or is there usually more action and dice rolls?

Glad you’re enjoying it! Every table is different. Ours prioritizes role playing, others do more combat/action. It’s all about finding a table that fits your style. 🙂

my table is like 80/20 combat to roleplay because that's just what my players like. in my friends game (in which im a player) its mostly rp centered. its completely dependent on both the dm's intent and the table's taste

March is a paladin, Ceallach is a cleric, Olma is a sorcerer, Flynn is a fighter, and Shraya is a druid.
