The Time American Stock Cars Raced in Africa

I've been down a rabbit hole recently of NASCAR international races, but I just had to do a video on this race. This race happened recently, in 2010, but I have never heard of it until just a few days ago. This race is very entertaining, with a lot of cautions, crashes, spins and a crazy finish. I sat through the entire thing and was thoroughly entertained. I know this is different than my usual NASCAR content, but it's pretty close and I think you all will like it. I really didn't know much about the ASA either until this video, so that was fun to learn about as well.

I believe Australia had their own domestic stock car series at one point as well. I remember seeing a clip somewhere of what looked like an early 90s cup car crashing during a race on the Surfers Paradise street circuit.

I believe I remember watching this ASA Racing in South Africa on TV, but I couldn't remember who won that race. That looks similar to the old Las Vegas Motor Speedway where it was wide and flat.

I love seeing these old cars from Cup teams and trying to remember which paint schemes they originally were. The #11 fedex car was pretty obvious, but I couldn't figure out Bodine's #8. If there's a NASCAR split the teams should totally bring a few gen-4s out of retirement.

Aside from Japan the NASCAR Cup series raced in Australia in 1987 & 1988, NASCAR Xfinity & Trucks raced in Mexico/Canada....

Just because the ASA decided that in their rules at some point... This is an ASA race, which was a sanctioning body independent from Nascar. Just like Nascar require full service at some track, or use to require a certain number of stops under green in some series. Every motorsports have different pit stop procedures made for cost, improve the show, safety. Here I think the ASA wanted to mix things up as well as reducing the number of people in the pit lane (for both safety and trying to improve the show).
