I’ve been following your career closely since like summer 2010?? I was twelve and I wanted a cool hobby because I was kinda bullied in school and wanted something ~unique~ to identify with. And, lbr, being interested in fashion is rather unique when you’ve spent your entire life in a smallish city in Siberia. That’s when during summer holidays I binged a couple of seasons of PR and ANTM to practice my English skills. Lo and behold I WAS HOOKED. I started researching like a crazy person, and it just so happened that you were already all the rage in the fashion industry. I spent hours looking through your already impressive portfolio, countless runway appearances and rare interviews. I think a had a baby crush on you, but also your works were at times so complex and so... beyond what everyone expected from a fashion model. So... yeah. I was hooked. A summer hobby turned into a what seems like a lifetime hobby - I’m applying to a masters program in fashion management next year. And your work in fashion has been a great inspiration to me for so many years and I guess in some ways it contributed to my coolest, most favorite hobby to date - so, thank you.

One of my friends who was 5'11 was scouted for her height, and she was proportioned well - an average girl, moderately skinny - and they asked her to lose 25 lb if she wanted to model. So, going by that, I'd guess it's still quite strict.

i think to become a model it has become less strict because companies are all about including everybody now. But to become a supermodel or for some brands it is very very strict

I pursued modeling when I was in my late teens/early 20s but resources are limited when you live in the middle of nowhere and can't afford to travel. I tried applying online to the big management companies like Wilhelmina and IMG but kept hearing that I was too short (5'7"). When I would mention that Kate Moss, Alexa Chung and plenty other successful models were my height, they didn't care. I guess I just wasn't striking enough. My acting pursuit was even shorter lived. If only Instagram and being an Influencer was a thing when I was pursuing my dream.
