Quick wiki search. The director Simon Wells is H.G. Wells great-grandson. Pretty cool.

"We all have our time machines. The ones that thake us back are memories, and the ones that take us forward are dreams." This is my favorite iteration of the Time Machine, i love the score and the fact that Samantha Mumba is in it.

Oh Mr Boyd, you clearly never had my mother's gorgeous shepherd's pie. We'd have a lamb roast on Sunday, then she'd mince the leftover meat, add some spices, , cook it again, then back in the oven with the potato topping. It's strange to start with this one rather than the famous 1960 one, but I always had a soft spot for this. The effects are obviously better, I liked the Moon being blown up, I thought the Eloi settlements were beautifully designed, and I really fancied Samantha Mumba. I think you have to accept the language thing - at least they tried to address it. I must say, I'd like to see a reaction/comparison to the Rod Taylor film.

Definitely, a good cook can make delicious Sheppard's Pie! Apparently Mr Boyd hasn't tasted the right recipe yet!

A lot of the first cars used similar brakes to carriages . I don't remember the exchange in the film , but certainly somebody who knew about the suspension and brakes of carriages might very well see something familiar when looking at on a horseless carriage .

More like the eloi are the descendants of people who made their living as influences, and the morlocks are the descendants of billionaires. I mean at some point cannibalizing people figuratively eventually gives way to being cannibals literally.

overall, I think I like the 1960 version of The Time Machine better - partly because I saw it for the first time when I was a child, and partly because their scientific naivete can be overlooked. As silly as this movie is, It's not without it's bizarre charm ; ).

10:55 It's a Temporal Paradox, her death is the catalyst for him creating the Time Machine. He can't go back to save her as then he would never had created it. He can go and change something else but nothing connected to the creation of the Time Machine.

Thank you for the great and insightful reaction. However, the original 1960 movie was slightly better. And the book was a favorite of mine as a child. I hope you can react to the original movie... this one was one of the remakes. There's been a few.

Agreed that the 1960 version is better, but the 2002 version is super underrated, I think they're both great in their own way, the 1960 exceeds, but the 2002 also did great and everyone hated it because they can only ever compare it to the original

It’s not the first time I’ve heard you say (sic) “We should go back to dressing like this Guys” or even, “Why don’t people speak like this anymore: Bring it back...” ☺️ I find it adorable of you to want it so fervently 😂🥰☺️. Why don’t you try to start the (clothing) trend? It ‘was’ pretty epic when you look back and without question, distinguished ♥️✨

love this movie, oneof my fav time travel movies of all time and it actually uses time travel and not the mislabeled time teleportation... yea i dont like diamonds, nor gold, silver and platinum for me and ruby or jade for stones/ore, but i also do not like jewelry in gen, waste of money in my eyes, sooo much better things to spend that money on...

Hey brother, if you like to read alternate-history fiction, there's a great series of older books called The Lost Regiment series. It's about a Union regiment that gets taken through st elmos fire to another world, where other humans are literally treated like cattle by an alien race that looks like a bigger, meaner version of Chewbacca (who live in a similar fashion to the ancient Mongol hordes, just across the entire planet). Needless to say, they take up the same cause in a new world

I hated dark. I feel like it threw all the good will and building of the first 2 seasons in the 3rd one. I was hooked until they fudged it all up with the bs explanations of the end and how it ended up. They had me til the 3rd 3rd. Ngl.
